Well i finally went up into the parents attic this past sunday and retrieved most of my old diecast collection. It was like goin back in time... a few suprises and a few i thought i remember'd were no longer there. There were mostly late 70's early 80's hw's but also found a handful of tomica, a fair amount of older MB's, some park-n-pates?(i think) the cars with the big chrome rear bumper w/ big red taillights and a state plate.?, 3 mercedes siku's that i got in Trier germany.. well any way. I was so excited bout some of the hw's i found i just had to shoot a pic of a few and thought i'd share them here with ya. Pics are dark and i apologize, i'll try and shoot some better ones of all the cars this weekend when the natural light in my apartment is better.

Awesome story and awesome collection! It's great when they don't get thrown out.

I wish I had done that instead of making all of mine into scrap metal.

Very Nice collection. I wish I had all of mine when I was a kid. I have a few floating around in the house some place.

That's great that you still have them. Very nice assortment of Real Riders. Don't let 'em get away from you again (unless you send them to me).

My son has all of his cars also, you look to be about the same age judging by the different models

wow, would love to find a stash like that!

I'd say those Real Riders are worth alot more than those redlines, considering the condition

My mom gave me a choice when we were leaving germany between those and my old star wars(only had so much room in cargo to bring stuff back stateside) which i kinda regreted since i had pretty much all the original star wars.. but the hw's were alwasy a fav of mine bein an only child... gave me lots o outlet for my imagination...LOL and Oh believe me i had and still have many that have hammer marks on them.. :drunk: had to make em look like they'd been wrecked ya know! I'll try and get the rest pictured this weekend for all of ya!

I'm not sure what the Alive '55 is worth but I've been trying to track them on ebay because I'd like to buy a few different colors. The really nice ones seem to get out of my range pretty quickly so I guess I'll have to lower my standards and buy some less than excellent condition models.

I've been buying Classic Nomad RLs because they are cheaper.

The only toys I saved from my childhood were Star Wars, Hot Wheels, and Lego blocks. Many of the same cars pictured make up my childhood collection and mine are in similar condition! I was too young to get the redlines since I really started collecting in 1979. I picked up a few here and there from friends in trade but 95% of childhood collection is blackwalls from 79-82.

I forgot to mention that the ones with the license plates are called Kenner Fast 111s.
