no there was a dx2 radio. I have one currently. its just the 2ch model of the dx3 but then spektrum has also release a second version of its famous dsm radios called the 2.0 very confusing hu. so if you get the 2ch model I suppose you would have a dx2 2.0 lol so It depends on what your talking about but lets assume your gona buy a new one aka the 2.0. I have the origional and I love mine I am yet to have a glitch and the radio feels great in your hands. but I have also used the 2.0 version of my radio that my friend has. I dont like it because it doesent fit my hand very well. but then again I wouldetn think so if you have short stubly little sausage link fingers like me  but my friend loves his radio and wouldent trade it for the world so except for the fact that you may have problems using the 2.0 if you have short stuby fingers its a great radio that will never fail on you.
HOPE THIS HELPS

Yeah that helps a lot. Thanks for the information. I will definitely be looking at purchasing the dx2.0 radio.

I have owned the DX3 and the DX3.0. They are both really good radios. The DX3.0 has all of the features a serious racer needs at less than half the price of a 3PK with a Spektum module/Receiver.
I would strongly consider the DX3.0 if you are a serious racer. Otherwise, any of the Spektrum radios are great for playing.
