View Full Version : New Auto world Cars
fordcowboy 12-10-2006, 08:56 PM I have a question for everyone on the board.....
Which would you rather see in the new AutoWorld cars? Same paint schemes as originals or new & different paint schemes than the originals? I think I would rather see something new & different. That way I don't have an Aurora and an AutoWorld that look the same.
Love to see some feedback.
Thanks,
Fordcowboy
roadrner 12-10-2006, 09:13 PM I'd like new bodies and different paint schemes. Would really like to see the raw bodies offered. Just plain white with the chrome and glass and let me do my thing. Always hated stripping those JL/PMs! rr

I'd like to see both. And lot's of them.
I know some folks disagree with me but, I want to be able to get my hands on some.
AMX, please remake the AMX. Randy.
wheelszk 12-10-2006, 10:08 PM I would like to see the 1st lap cars I paid $130.00 for, two months ago.
Mike(^RacerX^) 12-10-2006, 11:54 PM Id just like to see them period.

T-jetjim 12-11-2006, 06:42 AM New bodies is my choice. I am not a big fan of just new color schemes. If I already have one, I don't get excited about just a new color. (I did however purchase both the xtraction and t-jet releases from AW).

raypunzel 12-11-2006, 09:03 AM How about enough of the video shots of whats to come...Why not get the cars to the masses before all the excitement wanes. It reminds me of the the spoiled kid I used to know who showed us all his toys when we went over his house...but never took them down to play.
I am excited when I hear about a DASH body, because I KNOW that they will be available for purchase very soon. The same cannot be said for the AW/JLclones or whatever they go by.
The complaints directed toward Tom are warranted in my opinion. Don't just talk the talk, walk the walk as well. Money talks and BS walks..its time to show us the money. If Dash can get their product from prototype to actual sellable goods wht cany AW? They both take the same slow boat here (from China) do't they?
I refuse to preorder anything from anyone with regards to slots on the drawing board. I buy when I can hold the goods in my hands.
What say the rest of you?
SplitPoster 12-11-2006, 11:20 PM Same cars in new colors = sales with no new tooling expenses, especially to all those who MUST have one (or two) of each. No thanks, I'll hunt for the originals.
The only cars I see for sale locally are Mopar Mania. The back wheels/tires only look a little too big, but those fronts.....
ParkRNDL 12-11-2006, 11:54 PM I'm a big Thunderjet fan... I'd like to see a mix. Maybe a couple of Aurora colors that a certain model didn't come in (turquoise Torino, anyone?) or rare colors... definitely some metallic non-Aurora colors, with maybe a vinyl roof or two thrown in...

they'll never do plain white because i was at hobbytown talkin to the guy about brass for my 1/24 sprint car and he said there downsizing there brass section because most people want to run out of the box he said paint doesnt sell well anymore :(
bluerod 12-12-2006, 12:05 PM yes the bronco sure look good in any new color but red how many of these have we seen around how about black grey
mopar78 12-12-2006, 07:00 PM i'd like to see new and different paint schemes and i'd just like to see the cars on the market, not just pictures on a webcam.
videojimmy 12-12-2006, 08:49 PM why not make thre blue version of the Bronco? Frankly, making the exact same colors as AFX Broncos doesn't seem wise.. espeically when you'll be able to get an original AFX bronco body, in red or yellow for LESS than what AW is going to charge.
1976Cordoba 12-12-2006, 08:54 PM This is me:
50 / 50 split between new 'old' (i.e. Aurora/AFX) bodies and new modern bodies
The old bodies would be painted in new colors and the "holy grail" colors that collectors shell big money for (like that Sugar Daddy Datsun or whatever it is). If it is a common body color it doesn't get done, sorry.
No wide front tires anymore, either. And bring back the satin AFX rims along with some body-color matched wheels and black wheels.
That'd be a good start.
My $.02 worth.

RacerDave 12-12-2006, 10:45 PM Definitely new colors on the old bodies. I don't see the point of re-doing the old paint jobs. I do like the mix of new bodies and oldies though.
ogarfield 12-13-2006, 09:16 AM All I'd like is AW to make good on their promise a YEAR ago that we would have an AMX, Torino, & Cougar by the FIRST quarter of '06......It's now 9 months .

I agree. Has anyone seen these three cars on Toms' webcam?
