any body else having trouble with these cells.I am doing some mid-offseason cycling and my ib 3800 cells are not responding they only take about 1400mah when peaking. I am using an ice charger set at 5amps with a 6mv cut-off and the temp has not passed 85 degrees. The charger seems to be working fine because I'am also cycling some gp 3300 that are 2 years old and thier taking between 3050mah and 3450 mah the ib are raced just one season one with approx 7 runs and one with 2 runs. What gives any body got any advice are are these junk already. If so what a rip-off.thanks

I would hit the charge again.

My 3800's do that some if you do not cycle or run them.

also maybe try turing down the mv to like 2 or 3

They might be false peaking. Have they been run lately? I have some IP3800 that were not run for a year that did the same. After a few "wake up" cycles thay were fine. Try continuing the charge until they peak at least 120* then run them. I use mv of 5. You may also try setting your lock out to keep from false peaking, just remember to to change it back later.

Welcome to HT!

what I did was used the 4-step charge and let them mellow out at 2.5amps until 2000mah then I jumped it up to 5.5amps and they seemed to take a good charge thanks for your help

I was able to prevent false peaks by changing the peak delay to 10 minutes. It is near the bottom of the scroll page. You can use whatever peak mV you want. I use 4 or 5 depending on the packs' age. Be sure to change it back if you repeak, I set it to 1 minute for repeaks. I think the stock setting is 3 minutes, and that doesn't give the cells enough tome to stablize. GOOD LUCK!
