These pics were from previous threads that I started. I thought it would be easier to view the pics of the Oldsmobiles that I posted so far.

I hope TheDarkCutlass views this thread.

GEEZ...that '53 White and Red Olds convertible is a real BEAUTY, and I like how they made it's soft top so realistic looking. I also like the over-all look of the Orange '49 Olds.

I just can't get over the fact that every one of those Brooklin Diecast have a neat looking hood ornament, nice fat whitewall tires, and authentic looking hub caps. I wish all the diecast makers did that!

Again STUTZ...NICE showroom quality pics!

Thanks again for the kind words StreetFreak.

The red and white '53 Olds Fiesta is my favorite of the Oldsmobiles that I have in my collection. It's a limited edition, and the convertible top up version is appealing.

whoa, how'd i miss this thread! (gotta visit more often)

them babies are just sweet, would love to collect more 1:43rd scale stuff, but people on the bay want to charge close to $10 to ship cars that size. Every single one i see in the store i buy, but stuff like the brooklin diecast i just can't find to purchase.

Thanks for the thread stutz

Has anyone made a 1980 Cutlass? I need one to fill a hole in my "cars of the family" collection.

No, noone has made a 78-80 Cutlass, its about the only cutlass someone along the line has not made (atleast of the RWD versions up to 88) in one way shape form or another.

You'll sometimes see 78 Cutlass listed on the bay, but its the stock car that carried over from the 77 model year design.

Would definitly be sweet if someone made it, was the beginning of the end of the ugly car era.

Here's another Oldsmobile for your interest. It is a '67 Toronado by Politoys. It may be a copy of or a licensed use of the '67 Toronado by Tekno - the casting seems identical though the Politoys is not finished as carefully as the Tekno. - ranchero -

Here's another 1/43 scale die cast '67 Toronado. This one is from the Danish toy company Tekno. It may be the basis for the Politoys Toronado.

And here is the Tekno Toronado all opened up. Tekno was famous for quality die cast models with entertaining working features. The hood, both doors, the trunk and both headlight flaps (revealing four diamond like lenses) open. Also, the suspension works and the wheels steer the correct direction when down pressure is opposite side front fender. Just a gem of a toy.

This Tekno is from late '60s / early '70s. Teknos were common in Europe but not USA. I bought several of them (but not the Toronado) in about '68 or so mail order from Road & Track magazine. I know I got the E type Jaguar and a 230SL from R&T and maybe some others too. Tekno had not many American cars, but one of the few was an excellent first edition Mustang.

My guess would have been late '60's when you described the headlights as diamond like lenses. I remember several cars with those headlights.

Definitely post pics of them DarkCutlass.

The other scale is probably 1/32 scale.
