what is silent auction? how is it done?

TO TOMYLORD:
This silent auction was at an actual auction house. Everything in the auction house is up for offer to be bid on. This particular auction house had everything from furniture, toys, etc etc. Each item has a price card where a perspective bidder would write their bid and bidder number in hopes of winning the item. The auction for any item usually lasts one month and during that time you can call or go back to the auction house and see if you have been outbid. In this auction house's case, nothing is online. When the end of the month comes around, the highest bidder on the card wins the item. I hope this expalins a silent auction a little better.
