Hello all......

I havent done trains in awhile, but I do sneak over here occasionally to snoop around and look for tips and ideas for doing scenery on my 4 lane 4 X 16 HO scale slot car layout.

A bunch of us guys on the slot car section of HT have been kicking around the idea of designing and building our own HO scale chassis and cars using parts that are readiliy availible.

Now this is where you guys could help us.......

We are looking for small DC motors, that would run in the 12-18 volt range.Perhaps motors used in N gauge applications would be what we are looking for,not really sure??????

Any links or direction that you could point us in regarding these types of motors would be MUCH appreciated!!!!!!!

Also, small gears and pulleys that we might be able to utilize for drive trains would be helpful as well.Brass, nylon, whatever material there is.
Any of my searches for these things led me no where.

Thanks guys.

It's been a lot of years since I did much reading on such stuff, but I gather Sagami motors are still made, as are Northwest Short Line gearsets. As they say, if you can't get 'em at your local model railroad shop, you can get 'em from Walthers. Here in L.A., try The Whistle Stop in Pasadena.
