I ran some practice laps at Boulder City Nevada this past weekend with my Sprinter, it was hooked up right out of the box! this car works on dirt and asphalt with a few minor changes (rightside mounted Jacobs Ladder for Dirt) (Leftside mounted panard bar for Asphalt ) , now that i have tried this car in both types of environments... and its fast in both ive decided to build a few,Starting with the jigs and fixtures next week.

Thanks Mike I'm hoping it will cut the labor cost down on building these things.
the rotisserie will definitely aid in welding time, the biggest expense is the hours it takes to tig weld these things
also every car will be identical

Jamie,

Nice jig setup! The rotating stand is an excellent tool. Do you have left/right half build up on one side and tie-end assembly on the other?

You are 100% correct Tim one side builds Left & Right sides , and the other side of the jig locates everything else to complete the chassis.

Thanks Tim  yeah the motor mount config is a new feature to the belfab sprinter, the laydown mount was purchased from Knoxs motorsports out of Oregon. also ive added a removable top rail above the engine i call it the Spider bar. now the engine can be removed as a complete unit.
The car is still a Torsion rear and coil over front .. and can also except coil overs on the rear

Jamie,

Congrats on the record!! I noticed you run a rear swaybar. What type of track (flat/banked) would the chassis benfit the most from the rear bar?

Belf28
08-13-2007, 02:40 PM
hi Tim thanks for the complement  i didnt have the rear bar on for this race.
but the rear bar would help at any track if used... it helps the car to stay tighter in a long run.
my car was snug all day even with cold tires. but would start to free up on about lap 30ish so the bar would have helped me in this race

BelFab Race cars wins the Big One !

Epping, NH – Ipswich, Mass. driver Justin Belfiore took a dominating win of the All-Star Classic Saturday night – a race he'd always dreamed of winning. He led the way after the first segment of the race, reformatted this year into two 75-lap segments. He then went on to dominate the second portion, especially after ISMA point leader Chris Perley had been eliminated late in the first race in a hard crash off the first turn. Justin acquired his third career ISMA-Wirtgen race by taking the prestigious Classic win and he also was able to give his young son Justin, a sweet birthday present to remember.

"I can't believe it," said Belfiore in victory lane. "The lap traffic was kind of tough. I've been doing this for a long time. I had a perfect car. My luck finally held out. I ran lean in practice and the team made it just right. I thought Chris was going to be tough there as the race went on. He and I were kind of swapping spots a couple times but then he got in that accident. I didn't know if I had anyone to race with. He was the only one that was passing cars the way I was.

"First of all I'd like to wish my son a happy birthday. It's his birthday. He was born on the Star Classic like five years ago. This is pretty cool. And, D&G Modular Homes, without them I wouldn't even be racing. I've been through a lot of bad luck the past few weeks and I'll tell you I would be here without him. My father – what can I say? He gave me a perfect racecar. He's heart and soul with this car. He's out in the garage every single night. I don't know how he puts up with me. I don't even know what to say. I'm at a loss for words."
