ACE 11-28-2006, 05:12 PM pert plus thicker than regular pert? TEAM_lost. 11-28-2006, 07:13 PM are you being sarcastic?:D ACE 11-28-2006, 07:32 PM not at all.got some empty bottles, was going to fill them up with shampoo and was wondering what to label them huffrcman 11-28-2006, 07:59 PM 30-60wt depending on how smooth the track. SuperXRAY 11-28-2006, 08:19 PM Team LOST, please stop telling people to use shampoo, it's very annoying and misinformative. It isn't the same as shock oil, in any way. As to answer his question, I run 30-40wt Losi oils, and yes it is important to stick with a brand, as they are not consistent even from bottle to bottle. TEAM_lost. 11-28-2006, 09:09 PM fine what ever, but it works, hey your loss, i guess? seeya, mike DIRTsportsman 11-28-2006, 09:30 PM I run 20-30wt trinity. Stock Flat Carpet 6c **Whoops your talking about dirt** burbs 11-29-2006, 03:43 PM side shocks i run between 30-50 wt. and center shock i run 50-90 wt. eviltone 11-29-2006, 09:39 PM I run 20-30wt trinity. Stock Flat Carpet 6c **Whoops your talking about dirt** no.. he's talking about our indoor carpet season..... i use 35wt oil in my side shocks...... DIRTsportsman 11-29-2006, 10:33 PM O ok In that case i have a question myself about shock oil, if you put on a stiffer spring or add preload should you also use thicker oil. One a side note what ride hieghts are you guys running i cant seem to get my car to stopp bottoming out. thanks MIKE VALENTINE 11-30-2006, 09:32 AM Dirt, if your car is bottoming out, near the front of the pod, you may have to soft of a center shock setup. if your car is rolling over and hitting the side of the chassis front or rear you either could be to low or to soft side shock setup or to soft front springs. A good place to start for ride height is .200, you shouldn't hit at most tracks with that. nicwald 11-30-2006, 11:43 AM I race at Dirt Runners. I Use 40wt in the center and 25wt in the sides, I am going to try 30 and 35 in the center though and see how that works. Nick pmsimkins 11-30-2006, 12:14 PM If you run at a track or race where they tech ride height you might want to start a little higher than .200. Nothing is more aggravating than getting your car just right and then being told you need to raise it up. satrnfreak 11-30-2006, 12:21 PM The first question that shoulda been asked .... What kinda car are you running?? From previous posts EDM has made, i think he is refering to running a B4 on the oval, not a pan car. I would therefor go with a touring car type setup, witht the hardest springs they make for a B4 and some HEAVY shock oil. In my 18B i run 60wt in the front and 50 wt in the rear. Hardest springs they nake for it in the front, all the way in on the shock tower, and one step dpwon on the springs in the rear, with shocks mounted in middle position. PLEASE let us know what you are intending to race, im sure Nic, TOne and me can be a big help to getting you running right at DR's(or at least get you in the ballpark). PhREAk MIKE VALENTINE 11-30-2006, 02:00 PM pmsimkins, I haven't had an issue running the lowest point of my chassis (left front) at .200. The local tracks have a 3/16 (.1875) ride height rule. I don't wear the left side tires .025 in a day of racing. The right side of the car is normally higher then the left side of the car, esp the left front were it is normally the lowest spot on the car. pmsimkins 11-30-2006, 03:36 PM Mike, I see what you're saying with the lowest point being on the left and at .200. If the right side were at .200 I don't think you'd make it the full race day. That is what I was thinking about. MIKE VALENTINE 11-30-2006, 03:50 PM I have never been able to get the left side (front to back) and the right side (front to back to be the same height race ready. I gave up trying a long time ago. So when someone indicates there ride height I never assume it means the entire chassis is at that height, just the lowest point. pmsimkins 11-30-2006, 03:54 PM Gotcha. Although I have never really tried myself some guys seem to like to get all 4 corners of the chassis to be the same height. I don't have the patience for all the screwing around it probably takes to achieve that. DIRTsportsman 11-30-2006, 06:45 PM How do you measure ride hieght in thousands or hundreds of an inch? and were exactly do you measure from? thanks edm racer 11-30-2006, 08:31 PM i have a b4 with an edm convbersion kit that uses tc3 shocks do you think that 40wt in the front and 60 wt in the rear would be a good starting point for dirt runners eviltone 11-30-2006, 08:55 PM i have a b4 with an edm convbersion kit that uses tc3 shocks do you think that 40wt in the front and 60 wt in the rear would be a good starting point for dirt runners Indoor or outdoor? thats the 1st question... because INDOORS we dont run EDM's.
