View Full Version : Anodized Screws, washers, nuts
merich401 11-28-2006, 04:22 PM Where does everybody get there anodized stuff from? I am looking for something that matches KSG and ASE. blue color. I have ordered from fasteners express before but the color was much lighter and did not match just wanted to get input and i would like to buy in bulk not just 10 screws at at time in a ASE package.

Bill Johnson 11-28-2006, 08:16 PM It's tough to get anything to match now a days. Even KSG and Associated's stuff sometimes doesn't match. They send a good amount of stuff out at the same time and get them done in the same batch. But, depending on who does the anodizing and when, it will vary. I've had many Multi colored KSG's in the past, the aluminum was just anodized at different times.....I've pretty much either gone all silver, or lately all Black anodizing.....
DIRTsportsman 11-28-2006, 09:33 PM I agree bill my new associated screws varied in color depending on screw size
merich401 11-29-2006, 03:21 PM where can i send everything to get anodized at once that will fix the problem. all car parts and a few hundred screws doesnt that make the most since?
MIKE VALENTINE 11-29-2006, 05:38 PM Merich401, Even if you send the stuff out to be anodized at the same time, to the same anodizing place, doesn't mean you will get the same color. The grade of aluminum makes a difference in the end color. 6061 will be a slightly different color then 7075 aluminum, even if it's in the same tank be anodized.

Very True indeed...............
MAN! you must be picky,I've got all red on my HD car,as you can imagine it doesn't match EXACTLY but it's so close it's not worth worrying about.
Slider 11-30-2006, 05:28 PM You would think these are show cars. Instead of race cars. They don't run any faster with all the bling. But they sure look good.
And yes im guilty of the anodized thing as well.
Todd Putnam 11-30-2006, 09:44 PM All cars look good in the winners circle...
Brad Boling 11-30-2006, 10:14 PM I'll have to agree with Todd on that one. In my opinon, it's hard to beat that polished aluminum look!
