This is 1 racer that just does not understand Danielle 11-27-2006, 04:51 PM WOW...Ken I cant even begin to say thank you for thinking of toy drive races. I was thankful we had such a decent turnout - The first toy box is full and that is something those kids WOULD not have had without your help and the help of all the racers who came to K&N on Sunday. One box down...lets keep going! As Ive said, a FREE race was the least we could do to help draw attention to the toy drive. We (chad and I) also donated numerous toys and intend to do more before the drive is over. From this point if ANY person sends or brings in a toy K&N will give you a FREE practice pass for your kindness. I realize thats not the same as a FREE race but unfortunately we cannot host a free race every week. Maybe we can put on one more?!?! Anyways...we will be collecting for the kids as long as we can. AT LEAST until mid December... Any toys, gifts, etc. would be appreciated and WILL help give these kids a special holiday. For those who dont know our drive is for "we are the children" a collection for about 1200 local children who are homeless, in shelters, without parents, in foster care, abused, abandoned or handicapped. These kids will see get a bag full of age appropriate toys at a Christmas party on Christmas Day. I didnt just stick to toys I found a ton of back packs on clearance and threw those in... Im sure any child products would be helpful for this collection. Ken, I never heard you complain on Sunday nor did I know you were upset with the turn out! You have a big heart Ken, thank you. Dan 11-27-2006, 08:46 PM Why would oval guys drive 3 hrs to a weekly race to run . When there was a TOYS FOR TOTS race that was alot closer . Because they wanted to? It's a little harsh calling guys heartless because they chose to run their r/c cars at another track isn't it? I mean... do you know that they would not donate something at some other time or location? I'm not from your area, don't know you, don't know them.. Doesn't really matter, the concept is universal. Just seems like a good way to further alienate guys that you expect to run at your place regularly.. and aren't sure if they want to.. smokefan 11-28-2006, 04:49 AM Danielle, I'll get something shipped out to you this wk. maybe 1 of these days I can afford a road trip. LOL Danielle 11-28-2006, 09:31 AM wow...thanks very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! RacingWidow00 11-28-2006, 10:50 AM Just goes to show you, no matter what you do in this business, someone isn't happy. BUT, this is where we should be free to voice our opinions (as oldtimer did) without being beaten up about it and without other people taking offense and taking the attitude of not racing at a certain track anymore just because someone has an opinion. It's a public forum - for the good AND the bad. You can't please everyone all the time, but I'm sure glad K&N is helping out the underpriviledged children this time of year. As I read the post that started this thread, I don't think this was a pointed attack at anybody, just a statement in general that so many racers travel hours to get to a race that you actually pay for, but the turnout Sunday was minimal for a free race to support a toy drive. It was a tough weekend for a race, people were traveling to spend time with families, starting the Christmas & holiday rush... You do what you can when you are able is what it sums up to. Danielle 11-28-2006, 11:22 AM Im just sorry I offended people! I understand now thats what I did and it was not at all my intentions. I support all the tracks and I wasnt saying that anyone "shoulve" been at K&N...everyone has the right to go where they want!!! I was not pointing the finger at anyone and I can see how it may have come off that way. I am thankful so many of you came out and donated, even some of you who just dropped off toys and did not even race...thank you! Im truly sorry for offending anyone, again it was not my intentions. bud3738 11-28-2006, 11:32 AM Hey Danielle......you didnt offend anybody...you guys should be applauded for doing what you did.....See you guys soon......No more frozen pee's for me... Danielle 11-28-2006, 11:34 AM Thanks Bud....but you obviously havent read the general K&N thread....I did offend people and I am SINCERELY sorry for that.... but I have to ask.......what frozen pees? Carpet Assasin 11-28-2006, 12:00 PM Danielle, Since I live to far away to come for a weekly show, can I send a check for donation? If so who can I make it out too?
