hey guys I just got my hands on a ksg gen1 and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what a good setup for the car would be. the car is going to be used on banked carpet oval. we use niftech so traction is not supper high to a track that uses paragon. also the carpet on this track is relatively new. what I am realy looking for is for someone to tell me what kind of tires i should be running. right now the class that i will be running in uses bsr spec tires so that kinda narrows my selection down. also if any of you know what a good kinds of oil and springs are good on the center and side shocks? that would be much appreceated.
THANKS
Sean Scott
They will want to know if it is a solid or slider.
I have a set up for a solid but it is for flat carpet track .

oh thanks for clearing that up for me. wow i did not know that was a major part of why they call each car what they call it. yes the car is a slider then. the battery tray can be slid forward or aft via screws that are passed thru the chassis plates.

Sean I assume you bought James' car??? If so that was my old Gen1 slider..Im not sure what he would have left on the car t-plate wise.. but When I sold it to him it was a bias cut 45 degree KSG plate.. I ran the car offset pod.. basically I would leave the rear the same EXCEPT I would change the rear shimming so that the wheels are centered with the centerline of the car.. As in there should still be a mark on the lower pod plate indicating the center of the car.. Make the rear with 8" from outer edge of tire to outer ende of tire.. then just shim so that the oter ende of the left tire is 4" from center and right 4" from center...Up front I would change the springs.. It probably has a red and a green.. Id go with a purple LF and a Black RF spring.. other than that the car should be good>> IF it was james' car..

allright guys I got more problems with that ksg. I was taking it appart to work on the bearings only to find out that the guy who owned it also dident have much upkeep on his bearings. or the rear ones at least. the bearings are how to say ummmm notchy. its realy bad. so right now im soaking everything in denatured alcohol to try and break up whatever is making them stick. then im gona try laqure thinner. this is only temperary because obviously a new bearing will be much better but this is just to get me thrugh. but I was just wondering does anyone know where to get a compleate set of bearings for this car. it shares the same thing with everyother pan car so if you could just tell me where to get bearings for my car I would appreceate it. oh one mroe thing. its just the rear bearings (i forget if i mentiond that already or not) so if anyone knows what size they are I would be happy if you would tell me. also they are flanged all of em so i dont know if that changes anything
THANKS

1/4 X 3/8 are the rears and www.lefthander-rc.com sells all the parts you will need if you can't get them at the track you race at!
