I like the tan one with superfasts - quite nice true transitional!

The metallic brown car is top of my Lesney wants list, but at US$100 each boxed I will either have to get very lucky or fake my own by swapping bases between my spare RW and SF cars.Have you noticed the casting variation ? The edge of the trunk is either raised or grooved on the brown models. This was the casting in die production when Lesney changed their product from raised shut lines to having engraved shut lines.I havent seen a blue Cortina with the engraved trunk shut lines yet.
Lesney casting machines were of the right size to accomodate dies that generated 2 castings per operation -there are usually some minor detail differences between the no1 and no2 patterns.
The shade variations available in both colors are definitely noticeable, especially when the HTF dark blue cars are found
My father bought the real car brand new in metallic brown shortly before my 4 th birthday so this has always been my favourite Lesney casting.
As you can see from the photographs the skinny superfast wheels truly capture the stance of the original car perfectly which is why I prefer it to the regular wheels version
