View Full Version : LOGOS...NASCAR stuff??? The Jet 11-25-2006, 08:11 PM How many guy's like their rides to look like the real thing??? NHRCRACER 11-25-2006, 08:39 PM I do. I like it when it looks like a real oval race out there. I'm not even saying they all have to copies of real NASCAR Cup cars, but I like it when they have sponsor and numbers where they should. That said, like a lot of people, I'm a Dale Jr. fan, but it gets old when 5 out of 8 cars in your race are all red #8's. swtour 11-25-2006, 09:57 PM I like what the BRL is doing w/ the mandatory numbers. Do this but be an individual and have your own numbers...is even better. I like the NASCAR decal stuff...but a 'realistic' looking Race Car design, but NOT a copy of a Bud #8 or a DuPont #24 is much better. I had Mark#10 do me up some number decals in triple colors.. and now get to do my own schemes...I LOVE IT. (I do still have a couple dozen sets of SLIXX decals I won't sell, but I love the other style numbers better) OvalTrucker 11-25-2006, 10:16 PM I like the NASCAR appearance. I do try to use R/C decals for that "sponsored" look. And I always have a number on the car. I do have a Dale Jr. #8 body for static display. A friend painted it for me. It's way to nice to race. TEAM_lost. 11-25-2006, 10:23 PM um yea scott that blue body had no number, whats with that? lol, yea i like the nascar look but i think the nastrucks look better IndyRC_Racer 11-25-2006, 11:33 PM I used to laugh at our local track when 4-cell 19 or 4-cell mod would have more than 4 solid black cars in an 8 car heat. My favorite body at the moment is my Nastruck that I used some Slixx Target decals on and painted it pink instead of red. Not only does it look like something that you might see on the track, it also annoys some of the racers to get beat by a pink car. swtour 11-25-2006, 11:46 PM Nobody likes my NasTruck body (It's usually beating them) It's the old DAHM'S Spitfire body...and UGLY Green. Been sitting around for almost 10 years (I used it to win the old NORRCA Paved Oval Series in '98 or 99) That was FUN way back when. Most clubs don't allow that body anymore...AWESOME working body though. (Now it's sold by Van's Invent) TEAM_lost. 11-25-2006, 11:49 PM that thing must be BEAT after 10 years? is it just like a little piece of plastic now?? lol swtour 11-25-2006, 11:55 PM LOL CLose. Actually it was a .040 body and VERY Tough (Unlike so many THIN bodies now) There is a few pieces missing from the RF Fender area though....LOL and a lot of "DARLINGTON" Stripes on that side too. (Who keeps putting a wall in MY driving Line) TEAM_lost. 11-26-2006, 12:04 AM yea i noticed those track makers need to adjust for peoples driving lines :D DIRTsportsman 11-26-2006, 01:01 AM I Like mine to look like a real racecar that you would see at your local track not a corporate billboard at the nascrap circus. DK47 11-26-2006, 08:24 AM Used to do mine after Buck Simmons' dirt cars, then Jack Ingrams' Skoal Bandits, actually got a body deal with a local Goodyear dealer who sponsored the late Bob Pressley when he won the mid-atlantic region a few years back.Have stayed pretty close to that ever since. Rebel613 11-26-2006, 11:41 PM i model mine after my full scale race car, paint scheme and numbers willyplankhead 11-27-2006, 12:09 AM think that is the way it needs to be love spending the time to do one up past 2 years took concourse at paved nats with dale jr special paint schemes even if ther would have been another jr body would not have caused me a problem because there are not many that will do those and chances are there will be a few red ones out there and mine are all paint usually run one time after all for most of us nascar is what got us involed in this sport so sticker them up to your favorite driver or please your sponsor they just are not a oval car with out them RCRacer45s 11-27-2006, 10:57 AM I think if its a oval car it should definately have a number on the roof and the doors. Its just not the same without it. Most of the time i do my own paint scheme and get a slixx kit for the numbers and some of the sponsors. BAR 26 11-27-2006, 02:20 PM I like to have mine look LIKE they COULD be in a Nextel cup race, or a Busch series race, but not actual cars that are there already. Like this car here, i used all paint, and it gives you a "one off" car that no one else will have. http://img423.imageshack.us/img423/4992/dsc0016mc7.th.jpg (http://img423.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc0016mc7.jpg) vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
