Platinum Hobbies in Columbus Ohio will be having a charity / toys for tots/ chili race on December 16th. Entry fee is $5 plus any new or used clothing, or new toy for a child ( boy or girl). You will also be getting some of Jim Workmans famous Chili that some of you have known when he use to have redfox open.
Doors will open at 9 am and racing begins at 3 pm. The classes that are offered are Busch sportsman with breakout, Stock, 19 turn, Mod, 1/12th scale, 4wd touring, sk cars, mini-t. If I missed any I will let you know. We are usually done racing around 10 oclock and if anyone needs a motel there is a motel 6 right across the road 1 -2 minutes from track. Wow Open Mod is about the biggest class now it is awesome and exciting. Jason Dennis hits 100 laps in 4 minutes full throttle no letting off. 19 turn is also been an exciting class, Once you run it you will wanna come back for sure.

Is open mod brushed or brushless or either.

John,Good question,I was wondering the same thing.Have you been running brushed and brushless together in mod in cincy???LMK and i'll try to find out how Vince plans to run it.We have not seen any brushless in mod here yet,but may get more racers if we did allow brushless also.

Mod if there is enough for a brushless class they will have there own but if not they can run together just like we do in 19 turn.

In cincy we mix them..

I've seen were they are mixed in opened mod. (sorry if I'm wrong though).

You are correct Kevin.. Our record right now is MOD is Jim Retherford who was using a brushless motor.. But the Mod Fast Lap record Is Monti running a Brushed motor..

then we can run them together for a more fun and exciting class.

I have both so it doesnt matter...BUT I believe ELI, Jim and a few others just have BL setups.. Either way is cool with me as long as we knw beforehand so I bring the right ESC...LOL..

toys for tot/chili race is still on. track will be open late on friday to give plenty of practice time. for all racers. saturday the doors bust open at 8:00 am bring a new toy and $5.00 race fee classes will be posted at platinums website www.platinumhobbies.net any questions or concerns just ask i will get them taken care of.

The Banked track is already up and running and also the flat is available as well.

The tracks will be open on tuesday12-12-2006 we will run flat oval on wednesdays & fridays banked oval on saturdays.road course on sundays.more great news to follow in coming days.

Thanks Kevin and Ohiorcracer! I have family in the Columbus area and can't wait to run the new track! Running in the Hoosier Chassis tour on Dec 16th! but have put the race on the calander for next year! Seasons' Greetings to all!

Glad to see that you will be running on it, It is a great fast fun track. The thing with this track is that you can just about run it with any setup and then adjust from there.

there is a few of us from my track i race at that plan on comeing up there to run the 16th. most of us will be running 19 turn. But we could use a few places to start from as fas as set up...
