sethndaddy 11-19-2006, 10:23 PM aurora wild ones mustang, a slightly souped up thunderjet

22tall 11-19-2006, 10:26 PM It's an Aurora wild ones Mustang fastback 2+2 model number 1416
daverave64 11-19-2006, 10:47 PM WOW ! Thank You for the fast response , what era would that be ? 60's 70's 80's ???
Thanks again ,
David
sethndaddy 11-19-2006, 10:52 PM i think early to mid 70's

jeauxcwails 11-20-2006, 01:09 AM That car was produced by Aurora in 1969 & 1970. As pictured, someone has added aftermarket aluminum rear wheels, and axle. (Original axle was knurled, not threaded.) From the looks of it (very nice), it either wasn't run much, or was well cared for if it was run a lot.
videojimmy 11-20-2006, 01:10 AM I think it was more a late 60's T-jet.
Wild ones came out before Tuff ones.. I'd say 1969-70 range
Very nice condition too.
Were the rear wheel wells enlaraged slightly?

micyou03 11-20-2006, 09:03 AM Looks good. The rear wheel wells look like they were enlarged to me though.
SplitPoster 11-20-2006, 06:17 PM I scanned a copy of a page from a 1970 catalog insert from an Aurora Wild Ones set, put it in gallery. Pictures are drawn, but you can ID for yourself.
Nice looking car, chrome doesn't look worn off at all. Maybe those big tires are outside the bodywork? Or at least the cut job is smooth...
daverave64 11-21-2006, 03:18 AM Hi
It looks like the wheel wheels have been opened up a bit , they did a nice job . The car is in good condition overall and the chrome is really nice .
What is the purpose of the brass pan ?
Thank You ,
David

No it's an Aurora and I don't even think Faller produced a Mustang 65/66 Fastback ever (or a Mustang at all...)
videojimmy 11-21-2006, 08:48 AM David... the brass pan is supposed to help the handling of the car. It lowers the center of gravity
