Hi all,

I want to revisit a question I asked some time ago but I don't think it was really answered.

Do any of you own a progressive scan dvd player? I was told by a snappy fast talking sales expert (name of store withheld) told me that a regular dvd played on a progressive scan dvd player to a newer wide screen tv with component connections will give me a much better picture than a standard player on the same tv. (I currently use a super-video cable).,

Can anyone here confirm this? I'm not talking about HD or Bue-ray, but just playing a regular dvd on a progressive scan player. For that matter, is the picture quality better playing a regular dvd using a HD or Blue-ray player?

Please share your personal observations. I'm trying to consider what I want to do for my Christmas shopping.......

You will get a slight improvement going from a S video hookup to component or HMDI input from a progressive scan DVD player. The improvement is not as visible and dramatic as the one you get from going to RCA jacks to S-video, imho, but it is an improvement.
