View Full Version : Rear wheel comes off the ground

When I make sharp turns under aggressive power, the outside rear wheel comes off the ground and the diff winds up. The current setup is real nice for ‘normal’ turns and jumps. Sway bars seem to have no effect. Where do I start my diagnosis?

Should I firm up the front, lesson the rear without bottoming out, or something completely different?

Should I start with springs, oil, or holes in the piston head inside the shock?

Being a lazy person, I’d prefer to start with springs.

Thank you,

What car are you driving?

Well since it sounds as your offroad. and truck or whatever.is not pushing going into the turn I would start with stiffer front springs 1st. Then possibly a heavier wheight shock oil.
Really need to know what your driving and conditions your driving in.backyard bashing or offroad track.

It’s 60% Traxxas Bullet and 40% RC10 [circa late 80s]. I’m bashing on a homebrew ‘track’ with baseball-field-like red dirt. Traction is good except the places with an excess of grit on the surface. Obviously you power slide in those areas and the outside tire does not come up. It just comes up where you really hook-up.

Thanks again,
