Okay I have gotten great results from all of you guys before now I need it again.

I have a Honda GC160A engine on my excell pressure washer and it will not start. I just, right before typing this, replace the fuel pump assembly because fuel was not getting to the carb. Now it still will not run, I can put gas directly into the carb and it will run until the gas is gone, but it is not sucking the gas from the tank to the carb.

Any suggestions?!

Perhaps your main jet is plugged. Shut off your fuel supply and remove the float bowl and take a look at the jet, blow it out with compressed air if you have it. You can also spray it out with carburetor cleaner, open the fuel supply and make sure fuel is flowing into the carburetor before reinstalling the float bowl.

Good Luck

these engines have 2 fuel filters 1 is a hunk of junk foam filter in the tank that will falls apart in time and clogs fuel lines and the petcock valve

Thanks I will try it out tomorrow. One question though, is it safe to remove the foam on in the tank and run without it. Also, I guess I will have to clean out all the components yet once again.

I will keep you posted.

it is fine to remove the foam filter as long as you the other filter is in place. the second filter is on the carb right under the petcock or fuel shutoff it looks like a carb bowl but alot smaller. if you remove the foam filter replace the other filter with a new 1 and blow out the petcock from the bottom with a air compressor to clean it out
