These Jada 1/64 1978 T/As have some of the most accurately replicated graphics I’ve seen! The black one is the more common ‘Y84’ while the gold one is a very limited edition ‘Y88’

In 1978, Pontiac offered a reversed pattern of the Bandit package using Solar Gold paint with a gold and black hood bird and some other goodies unique to the Y-88 T/A. The Gold Special Edition car was a reversal of the Black Special Edition cars. Instead of black paint with gold striping, the Gold Edition had gold paint with black striping. Basically, the package consisted of:
-- Solar Gold exterior with dark gold pin striping
-- Gold grille liners, I.P. engine turn, and misc. interior and exterior gold emblems
-- Black tail lamp housing and black windshield and backlight moldings

If you Notice on the Jada Toys Y88 Gold car the ‘Screaming Eagle’ is totally different than that found on the more common Y84 Black car. Also on the B-Pillars the same unique bird is applied! IMHO…these small accurate details are just part of Jada Toys ‘Keeping it Real’

I didn't notice that when I first looked at mine. The detail doesn't suprise me after the 1973 Mexican Sprint Mustang that Jada did that I had never heard of until you mentioned it.

I didn't want to miss the chance of getting one of each, so I ordered online from one of our sponsors. ;)

Its the only way I can get any of the new Jada stuff. I finally saw a few cars from BTW wave 8 at a Target the other day.

Check your local Target.

Mine had 2 black and 1 gold so I purchase one of the black T/As and left the others on the pegs... and they're still there  this was 3 weeks ago. Only $2.99

I have 2 Targets, both an hour away and neither have had squat for Jadas for months now. The last time I found anything realitively new was the 4-5 I saw at AutoZone.
Only wave 7 and a few wave 8 castings around here.

I found the "Blackbirds" at Walgreens along with several of the latest wave BTM last week. Walgreens is a GREAT place to find/get Jada's. They had a bunch of the "Hobby Exclusive" 1/.24th's for $9.99 in last few months, got the purple w/ silver flames Nova for ten bucks!

Yes very nice pix Roy. For most people who don't know, Wal-greens is a great place to find Jada Toys products.

Went out of town today and stopped back at the Kmart I was at for HW's Kmart days and they had recently stocked JADAS.
Scored the gold TA as well as some Darts. That Kmart had Jada's on sale for $1.99 each.
Now to find another gold one and a couple black.

I wish my Walgreens carried a good selection of Jada. The only keep 3-4 on the pegs at a time like they do there JL's

Yep, Walgreens is hit and miss, 3-4 on the pegs is common and mostly 2 waves behind current release. However once I found a complete wave 6 at one store... all 12 cars
