There are some high quality 1/43 car manufacturers (AutoArt, Kyosho, Minichamps...), but they mainly make european brands, only few american cars made by them. Is there a company, that makes 1/43 models of american muscle cars, hot rods etc... with great details (detailed engine bays, multi-color interiors...)?

Most of the 1/43 models I have, regardless of manufacturer, do not have opening hoods, so no detailed engines.. but I will look for the interiors and see

Most high end 1/43 scale diecast cars do not have opening hoods.

Franklin Mint had some Muscle Cars in 1/43 scale that had opening hoods, doors, and trunk. I belive Franklin Mint was being sold. The detail wasn't too bad, but I didn't care for the $65 price for the cars of the 60's. The Franklin Mint cars of the 50's had a price of $55.

I have 5 or 6 Franklin Mint cars, but I don't know where they are. I remember buying a 1969 Pontiac GTO JUDGE as my last Franklin Mint car.

There are some high quality 1/43 American cars out there , but few have opening hoods or doors ... Minimarque43 , Motor City , & Western Models are a few of them focusing on mainly American cars ...
