BRS Hobbies 11-01-2006, 11:41 PM Which HO slot cars do you enjoy driving the most? please be specific (body, chassis, wheels, tires, etc.) Best regards, Brian TK Solver 11-02-2006, 12:36 AM My favorite cars have Tomy GTP bodies mounted on X-Traction chassis with the front axle/wheel assemblies replaced with JL pullback front assemblies and Bud's TJet Tuff One Silicones on the back. They sit nice and low, handle great and look awesome. The lack of an independent front end doesn't seem to be a problem. Overall, I think the X-Traction chassis has the perfect combination of speed and tweakability and it's rugged and economical too. They're the most fun to drive. The JL #84 pullback bodies and the JL Tom Lowe #94 body also sit nice on an X-Traction chassis, which has me hopeful for what Tom might be able to deliver for NASCAR licensed releases down the road. The recent Mopar releases look very nice and I like the detail but the bodies don't sit well on the chassis (XT or TJet) so they could look and perform much better. TJets can be fun to drive as long as I use 90+ Ohm controllers. Many of the bodies are nice but the stock wheels look bad and many of the bodies don't sit well on the chassis. If I'm forced to "drive" a car with a heavy magnet chassis, I prefer an F1 body. The speed rush wears off pretty quickly though and I get bored. sethndaddy 11-02-2006, 01:21 AM tjets, original and new world (j.l./autoworld). bodystyles, the original dino ferrari was always fun. and the j.l. camaro handles great. afx/xtraction run a close second, the 2 cars me and Sethie have been running the tar outta are the new Dukes clean 69 charger white thunder, and sethies favorite, original blue/purple camaro with white thunder chassis (radio shack rare earth magnets on the rear help keep the car on) sethndaddy 11-02-2006, 01:23 AM years ago when I raced with a bunch of buddies, US1 trucks where the races that got everyone yelling and cheering like idiots. Althought my choice would be my modified AFX 917 mounted on a original Gplus chassis. Its just plain fun but Carol likes the rail rockets so getting to race against a human opponent ( Carol) is always better then racing the timer. Mind you its hard when her car was lapped in trued and goes like a nose rocket and I get which ever old wizard she pulls out of the kiit box for me.. lol..( needless to say I feel like a #2 Ferrari driver most days..) T-jetjim 11-02-2006, 12:14 PM My car of choice is typically whatever project I have just completed. I have a Red BRP Ferrari P-4 that looks awesome. The wheels and tires are AJ's wide screw ons on the back, AJ screw ons with O-rings in the front (these fit perfect under the flaired body). Mean green arm, super 2 magnets, thunderbrushes, stock gears and pick ups. Gears deburred. For magnet cars, I like racing a Super G+ with Poly Mags and Hot Arms with a Formula Body, AJ's delrin hubs and Supertires. Jim Marty 11-02-2006, 05:18 PM Any MoPar on a T-Jet chassis!! If it's purple, all the better!! Marty martybauer31 11-02-2006, 05:34 PM The G-Jet from BSRT/Scale Auto I LOVE running, with just about any lexan body. In second place, I have gotten into the fray t-jets, I have a couple with BRP bodies (mercedes clk and a Ford GT 2005). Followed by some old magnatraction and G+ cars with an old RC COla and a Shadow body and replica rebel charger as well. All good fun. Manning 11-02-2006, 07:51 PM I don't have a single favorite...... They all have their place. JL/AW T jet with the 67 Vette or Vette GS body. Love those 63-67 Vettes. My new AW Yellow Vette runs really well. No parts sorting needed....... 90 ohm controller. JL Xtrac with the 69 Camaro body. Used over a dozen chassis to get about 5 that run pretty well. 90 ohm controller. Tomy Turbo open wheel cars. Plenty fast, not too much magnet stick. 60 or 45 ohm controller. Tomy SRT Daytona Coupes and Chaparralls. Just look cool. Too much magnet stick for my tastes, probably my least favorite to drive cars, but they have the best bodies. 45- 35 ohm controller. Tomy SG+ with the GTP bodies, expecially the two Jag bodies. Way cool. Most of my SG+ cars now have BSRT chassis. 45- 35 ohm controller. Pretty much everything has slip on silicone tires. The stock JL/AW tires aren't too bad....... sidecar53 11-02-2006, 08:25 PM Super g+, gold electrics, independent fronts, silicone rears, 2006 Toyota Nascar Camry lexan body. Fast as heck and handles like a dream. Captain Fred 11-02-2006, 11:36 PM On a twisty, turny Cliff Hanger track, you can't beat a good old narrow chassis 440x2 with either a vette or a Lamborghini body. Those two hold the track better than any of the other Tyco, Tomy or LL cars. On a flat track, I like the JLTOs. My favorite car is a bright green JL Tjet Charger. Its motor always ran particularly good, right out of the box. I haven't had good luck so far with the JLXTs. The few that I have tried have been duds. All of my cars are pretty much bone stock, except the green Charger has some silicones on the rear. hoslotfrance 11-03-2006, 05:56 AM All cars from Magna to turbo. - Oldies on magna or HP7 - Modern racers on 440X or turbo We don't need SRT , SG+ and lifelike because it's the car who drive the pilot (on our twisty track). I prefer the Tomy turbo because it has "slot car" reactions... Special parts ? No ,thank's.... (except back silicones) vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
