Hey guys,
We've had a lot of customers ask to trade old cars for plating. After much thought, here's what we came up with:
The Hobbytalk price for our 1:64 scale cars is $40.00 delivered. This includes a display case and shipping; they go for between $43-$80 in our store.
We are currently taking 1:64 cars in trade toward the Hobbytalk price at this rate:
Johnny Lightning: $3
Basic Hot Wheels $1
Premium Hot Wheels (metal undercarriage) $3
Jada $3
Badd Ride $3
Matchbox $1
Maisto $2
Muscle Machines $2
Hot Wheels Red Lines (metal undercarriage) $3
If we've left out a brand that you collect, let us know and we'll send you prices.
Note: Please understand that we are very selective about the cars that we carry because each new car requires a considerable investment in time and money to add it to our store.
You can trade us loose cars (no problem). We don't care about the packaging at all, and even the paint can be flawed. However, the wheels, windows, undercarriage, and detail (bumpers, grill, etc.) must be in mint condition.
If you send us a list of the cars that you would like to trade, we'll look over the list and let you know which ones we currently need. Just because we say no to a specific one right now doesn't mean that we won't need it in the future; we may just be well stocked right now.
You can select from any of the vehicles that we currently have, or you can send us one of your own to be plated. If you send us your own car to be plated, please keep in mind that this is risky business for diecast cars, and they can be easily destroyed by this process. This means anything you send to us to be plated should be something you could live without in case it is damaged or destroyed during production.
