Mark Hosaflook 10-31-2006, 10:06 AM 1. T or F. I have no objection to GL going back and using previously done casting when introducing a new series theme like custom, flames, pearl paint etc.
2. T or F. Once a casting has had a run by GL, it should be retired to make that casting, time frame and series special. Three or four uses and that's it. Creates exclusivity in the line, value and collectibility.

I can't see retiring/destroying perfectly good castings. Imagine a new collector in 2010 looking for the 2006 Greenlight '67 Impala... and since the tooling was 'retired' and only 'x amount' were made it would be much more frustrating then 'Hey, that sweet '67 Impala is coming out again in the next Muscle Car Garage!'

2. F Why create a casting if you dont want to have a rainbow of different paint schemes out in the future? Waiting for new releases of your favorite casting is like waiting for the next book in an ongoing series that you love to read.

Atencio 11-01-2006, 10:36 AM I agree with Swifty's remark about retiring castings hurting future collectors.
1: True
2: False - Unless it is to remake/refine the casting (something I don't think GL will have an issue with)

I see no reason to limit the number of times a good casting is used.
Generally, I buy all of the available factory colors of the cars I like, plus whatever good custom colors come along, etc., so in my view the range of interesting releases for any high-quality casting is almost unlimited. The only reason I would retire any casting is to replace it with a higher quality casting of the same car.
Thanks for asking!
