Some of the JL Saturday Evening Post cars can be bought very cheaply now on the pegs, such as this one. Picture borrowed from Wyatts excellent site.

Then, when you remove the tampos, modify the engine and change the wheels and tires you get something like this street rod. I also added a chrome firewall, removed the wood-like side boards in the bed and added a full bed cover, and detailed the running boards.
Sorry for posting so many pictures of this car but I couldn't decide which ones to leave out.

Oh yea!!!! Worth every pic posted! Very sweet. Is that a blower from the Nitro Coupes MM series? Nice detail, the chrome firewall pulls it together like a true show rod. Thanks for sharing your work.

Yes. The blower, 'bug catcher', blower manifold? and pulleys/belt is from a Nitro Coupe MM.

Another awesome street rod! I love it.

If you don't like the pinkish color ring on the Nitro Coupe wheels, try using a little nail polish remover. I did it the other day and it worked like a charm.

Thanks for the tip Bill, I'll try that. I never did like that pink ring, I don't know why they put it there. Maybe the real 1:1 wheel had it, I don't know.

Worked well on Lizzie though, with the pink headlights!

Awesome work you're doing Dave, keep 'em coming!

I'm loving it! I can only hope RC2 sees it and wants to add just a few more pennys to production by using something like those Nitro Coupe motors. Their detail and overall look are great. :) Great Work!
