Its that time of year again! K&N R/C Speedway brings you the WINTERBLAST!

Chad's up for trying something new this year!

Starting on Monday January 1, 2007 Chad will be open all week for practice giving all racers a good chance to get set-up & ready to go.

The hours leading up to the blast are as follows:
Closed Christmas weekend for the holiday!
Wednesday December 27, 2006: 6-10pm
Friday December 29, 2006: 5pm - 11pm
Saturday December 30, 2006: 12noon-5pm
Sunday December 31, 2006: 9am-4pm *Last Race before the blast
Monday January 1, 2007: 2pm until 9pm
Tuesday January 2, 2007: 2pm until 9pm
Wednesday January 3, 2007: 2pm until 9pm
Thursday January 4, 2007: 2pm ...on - we start the 24 hours!
Friday January 5, 2007: 24 hours
Saturday January 6, 2007: 24 Hours
Sunday January 7, 2007- until racing is done!!!!!

Classes: All Classes are welcome to run! Including (but not limited to)
Stock
19 Turn - Sunday
Modified - Sunday
SK Stock - Saturday
SK 19T - Sunday
1/12 Scale Stock - Saturday
1/12 Scale 19T - Sunday
Legends- Sunday

Any other class interested in running with at least 5 racers can be added!
BRP???

Schedule:
ALL STOCK CLASSES on Saturday; Racing Starts at noon
All Mod Classes on Sunday; Racing starts at 11am.

Motors: Monster Stock Hand out for STOCK class. The motor you will run for the Blast will not be handed out until the MORNING OF THE BLAST, NO EXCEPTIONS!

19Turn class MUST run a fixed timing motor. Such as the Komodo's. If you do not have this, K&N has them available for $25.00. If you purchase one you can use it for the blast (you will not be required to purchase another).

Stock hand out motors - we ordered some now so racers could try them out. If you decide to purchase one NOW, the cost is $20 - and you CANNOT use this motor at the blast; nor will you get a credit for the cost. This is JUST an option rather than waiting to see how the motor runs.

Entry Fee(s) - 1st Class:
$55.00 "STOCK" will include a handout motor (only "STOCK" Class)
$35.00 All other classes
Additional Classes:
$20.00 per class
(stock always counts as first class and cannot be reduced - no coupons can be used at winterblast for racing fees)

Tech Inspection: This year inspection will be a more strict than years past. There has been several concerns brought to our attention and therefore, we have asked a VERY EXPERIENCED, Retired Racer to lend his services. Corner Marshalls will be hand delivering the cars to tech from each heat; avoiding any questions as to what cars are legal.

For those who need hotels, please view this link for some options that are 13miles from K&N:

http://www.vernonct.com/cfms/display.cfm?catagory=Hotels_And_Conference_Centers

For those who wish to stay at K&N...please note:
A.) we do not have showers
B.) we do not have beds
3.) you will need to BYOB (bring your own BEDDING)
Trust me the wood floors are HARD! PS: I have FIRST dibs on the LARGE PULLOUT...Cots fit easily...we saw that this weekend.... blow-up MATRESSES (not dolls, etc) also work....

Sponsors:

If you cant pre-pay - we will have both short & long sleeves for sale at the track for $10 (short sleeve) and $15 (long sleeve)

PAYMENTS/PAYPAL/ETC:
I hate to say we are still having some problems with the credit card situation. I honestly hope it will be resolved by the Blast. In the event any of you wish to prepay I can bill you through PAYPAL. Or you can mail checks, payable to CHAD SEWELL - to 74 Wood Pond Road, Glastonbury CT 06033. If you are pre-paying/registering - please include your name, contact info, classes you are running, frequency and transponder info. I will send receipts to all who provide an EMAIL address to do so. We will NOT ship shirts out; rather we will hold them at the track for those who pre-pay.

I realize many of you will have questions and need more information, please list those here so everyone is on the same page. You can also email me, PM me, or call me anytime.

Dont forget to add your name to the winterblast roll call thread!!!!

Bring on the 18th Annual Winterblast ALREADY!!!!

You posted stock as a hand out motor race. How about what the stock motor will be? This too will help those to practice.

10-30-2006, 08:29 PM
Danielle, you can put me down for 1/12 scale. I will definately try to bring a couple more racers with me.

Will 1/12 scale be handout also?

See ya at the warm up race,
Antonio

Danielle
10-30-2006, 08:37 PM
Brock - I will get back to you on that one (very good question).....

Antonio - GREAT Glad you will be joining us!! Also - Stock will be the only hand out class.

Pre-registering: Chad and I are working on a credit card machine/account. Therefore we will be able to start pre-registering once thats allset. At the latest it will be working by the warm-up race!

Someone should make sure the new "tech guy" is ready to work the blast....lol

10-30-2006, 09:32 PM
I don't think you answered Antonio's question, he's planning on running 1/12th stock, will that be a handout also or will 1/10th stock be the only handout? In years past all stock classes were handouts, I'm sure the reason for his question. Just want to be sure it's very clear for everyone.

Bill,

Very good point. After re-asking Chad the question he said that I should clarify on the original post that the only ones who will get a "HAND-OUT MOTOR" will be the plain "STOCK" class.

1/12 scale, SK Stock, etc - all will be able to either run their own motor or buy a motor at the shop. Again, keeping in mind that ONLY ROAR Legal motors can be used at this event.

Chad said if you want to get really crazy technical he could just raise all the fees and get a hand out for each class (but we think thats crazy)....so is this the best way to put it? Just "STOCK"?

10-30-2006, 10:46 PM
Bill you are right, my question was if 1/12 is running stock, will it be handout like 1/10th stock. I guess that the only handout class is going to be 1/10th STOCK.

thanx,
Antonio

Danielle
10-30-2006, 10:56 PM
I was going to word it that it was only 1/10th scale - but I didnt know if that was clear enough.... but yes Antonio you have it right now...LOL

Sorry I wasnt clearer! Im trying!

As for Dan/Bat/Rick....Im lost...we all know it takes next to nothing to have me posting 100 times per night, but Im trying to control that better. lol

Danielle
10-30-2006, 11:21 PM
lol...... my focus is on making the events a good time for everyone! Racing comes second for me......you guys need someone you can count on to pull the whole thing together.....

Im honestly thinking about it though.........but like I said my priority is K&N - and the events.

If I start racing we will all be in trouble...who will take care of K&N?

Classes: All Classes are welcome to run! Including (but not limited to)
Stock
19 Turn
Modified
SK Stock
SK 19T
1/12 Scale

You can tell by the wording that you work at a law firm hehe. Reads a lot like a limited liability clause!

If you guys need help during that week let me know. I am going to be off the 2 weeks before, during , and after the blast.
