Sorry to be so harsh, I don't wanna offend Jada fans but after lots of waiting and searching I finally got the #85 Dart GTS racer. IMO It's the worst quality I've ever seen from any manufacture that cost $2.99 retail. Sorry if I offend anyone again but there's no excuse for this clumsy detailing and bad craftsmanship... especially when you compare other 1/64s like Pro Rodz etc. I've always enjoyed the attitude of Jada products and I'm willing to overlook some flaws but not this time...

Looks like you got one that slipped by quality control.
I'm glad the one I found is of better quality than that.
Did you bother to inspect that Dart before you bought it?
I know there have been many cars, not just Jada, that I have left on the pegs
because of poor paint, QC, and other issues, after closer inspection.
Sometimes this stuff gets by the inspectors.
They are made by humans, after all.

Well I'm still a Jada fan ;) and I understand no one's perfect but I've seen chipped paint before, especially chipped chrome wheels which is very common.

I've learned to overlook flaws only because BTMs are really cool... but it's tough when other brands peg side by side like Pro Rodz with opening hoods, roll cages and sharp trim graphics... and they cost less!!!

In the past Jada was the only player but others are catching up and they need to step up if they want to keep charging a premium for their cars.

Bummer Mead. That was a nicely designed car. I got an Ultra Hot HW Mustang a while back that was a terrible mess. A few mistakes here and there you can understand but the whole car had problems everywhere you looked.

Mead...yeap....looks like the particular piece you have must have been built (assembled) on a Monday ;) I really did enjoy the fantastic pics there and the defects that you have pointed out are definately legit. I wouldn't be so quick to write Jada off though. I did compare my Hurst Dart with your pics and mine did have scratcheds on the back bumper and overspray on the grill. Other than that it appears fine. The side pad printed tampo was much better placed on my sample compared to yours which resulted in a better finish on the inner lip of the wheel openings. As far as the details on the grill..if you check out the orange one I pictured it has tampoed headlights and orange directionals. I'm sure this is a costly detail that can't be done on all Darts.

I love those Darts. The last two BTM series have been pretty good overall.

Oh...and nothing like a quick wheel swap to change the flavor...

Excuse my ignorance, but isn't dry paint a good thing?

Roy, you're right. Looks like you got the better deal. I'm still not crazy about the grill overspray. Anyhow I love the wheel switch especially with the outside white lettering, not sure how you did that. BTW I've touched up all the areas with model paint, I feel much better.

Atencio, I hear ya.

SHW, you do nice work... maybe next time.

Jedimario, yeah dried paint is great... 'dry paint' is when you're shooting a thin coat in the beginning or when you've run out of paint... ooops, either way... shooting 'wet' paint is better. :p

Mead...the white lettered slicks are off the Gray Primer Dart. I think it was part of BTM Wave 9...? I just swapped the bases with the bodies ...hehehheehhee

69 GTS Darts are one of my all time favorite musclecars. My brother inlaw had one when we were alot younger and it was as quick as all getout. The hurst dart looks like it could be at the staging area ready to line up and go.

I finally got a hold of two of the darts, the red "swinger" and the primer gray one. Both seem to be very nice, and made a nice addition to my Dart collection.
