Star Trek's "Catspaw"
Did anyone else like it? :thumbsup:

I didn't like it to begin with. Did they change anything that might make us like it now?

I watched it last night, still a pretty lame episode, and it didn't seem like it was tweaked much at all. The aliens "real" appearence looked just as goofy and fake as I remember them looking as a kid, basically like some stoner hot-glued some bits of fur and some leftover shrimp cocktail pieces together.

I liked the additional shot of the haunted mansion from a distance as well as their removing most of the strings from the little dying alien puppets. I think the explosion of the transmuter wand was enhanced nicely as well.

Well I think them using puppets was a cool thing to do.They looked TOTALLY alien.

I remember their freaking me out some when I first saw the episode in the early '70s. :eek:

I hadn't seen the episode in 30 years - fun one for Halloween!

I've always liked that episode, didn't see the enhanced one.

I saw Catspaw too,out of the the episodes aired so far that have been remastered,this is the only one I didn't tape,intentionally.I love the original,but not this one,too hookey pookey,Guy Schlicter.

I liked the castle shot, made me think 'Wait a minute, is that a new shot'? Which I think the intent is for the general viewer to not even notice 'new' shots.

I think they're doing alright.

Those establishing shots of the places they're encountering on planets--especially the unexpected places--are something that I've always felt were lacking in the originals.

I know it was the near zero budget restricting them from even doing some matte paintings (of which some have been spectacular when they've used them though they were all reused too often--even if altered somewhat on occasion).

It's nice to have shots of castles, fortresses, etc. that match the musical flares in impressiveness instead of wondering where that castle or mansion door came from and if there was anything more to it.
