I have the LRP neo1 4star motor and was wondering if the Novak 3.5 is a faster motor. If so can I run the 3.5 with my LRP comp sphere esc? Out west here we are allowed to run our brushless stuff in mod against the brushed guys but my 4 star just doesnt seem to have it compared to the brushed guys. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Or are there any of the other mfg motors that would be better in an open brushless class.

Here is what the ready site says it can handle so yes it says it can handle a 3.5 turn which you are referring and the 3.5 should be noticeably faster than a 4 star.

Motor Limit. Motor limit with brushless motors: Over 3.5 turns (for all available motors of today). Motor limit with brushed motors: Over 5 turns (for all available motors of today).

hope that helps!

Yea, i was more concerned with the 3 wires being easy to match to the Novak motor and the sensor wires having the same plug.

all LRP and novak motors and speedcontrols are universal..

we only have abrushless here now.. its about a 50/50 split on who runs what speedcontrol.. but everyone runs the same two novak motors..

Yea I would say after running the 3.5 this weekend, this thing is SCARY fast!!! Ive got to go back to the track for a couple of practice days to get a handle on it.

What novak motor would you suggest to run on a 156 to 165 foot flat cartpet track. I was thinking the 3.5 just because it is the fastest one, but I am not sure a small track like that can handle it. What do you think?

At a rated 10500 rpm per volt the 3.5 motor would be rated at 52500 rpm (unloaded) w/ 4 cell.

On that short of a track, and being that carpet usually allows really short tires I think you would have a hard time getting it geared LOW enough... I would guess w/ tire size around 2.15 you'd still need to be geared somewhere around 128/12-15.

I would bet if you tried the 5.5 you'd have more success finding a good ratio and still have more than plenty rip.

At last weekend's BRL race, I believe the runline was around 150ft. Track was only 35ft wide, a real hairpin track. We rolled around 1.08-1.10 with the 3.5. You just don't get to enjoy the acceleration for very long...lol

Danny you were at Greeneville for the oval masters right? That is about the same size track. So you would use the 3.5 in open BL mod? What about tires? I run BSR's what compund can handle all that brushless power in my Gen 2?
Thanks

Joel, Yes, I would use the 3.5 at Greenville. I'd say greenville is just a little bigger. I actually practiced with the BL stuff early in the week, but I didn't have the car set-up very well, until later when I had switched to Brushed stuff.

I would start with Pink lefts, Double Purple RF and Double Pink RR, At the oval masters I ran a single Purple RF with a glued side wall.
