Old_McDonald 10-28-2006, 11:55 AM My family got our first TV back in 1957. I saw the shows of the late 50's, all of the 60's and 70's. I have to say that the shows of the mid=60's thru to the late 70's were the best for me. I especially liked watching girls dresses grow shorter and the cleavages get lower as censor's relaxed and the sexual revolution took root. Then, sadly, as women's lib took over, the skirts grew longer and the pants became standard issue clothing. When will women learn that the "uni-sex", pants, and "equality" makes them less attractive?

Speak for yourself. I'm surrounded by attractive women at work.
And what the hell are "uni-sex" pants?

Well, I guess we all can't be so lucky to be working around attractive women at work. I work with Geeks and Nerds.
Also, I didn't say "uni-sex pants", but rather uni-sex, pants. (note the comma between the two words). I personally find anything uni-sex and pants make women less attractive.
The term 'uni-sex' was a term coined during the women's liberation movement for equality whereby used in the fashion arena to mean that clothes, haircuts, etc. are used to blur the distinction between men and women. Hence, women began wearing slacks, vest, and getting haircuts so short that even the Beetles's hair seem long.
It was during this time that some women even went as far as ewaring suits complete with slacks and ties. It was this decade where, in my opinion, women just waned to emulate men and did nothing to enhance a woman's "assets". Except for the haircut, Diane Keaton displayed this look in Woody Allen's movie "Annie Hall". Thank God this fad has faded away. Cleavage, Long hair and ponytails are back !!!

Pants and short hair on women have been common since the 1920s — and not just on Gertrude Stein. IIRC, "unisex" was a fashion movement started by designer Rudi Gernreich in the late 1960s, meaning identical costumes and hairstyles for both sexes. It was strictly a gimmick and didn't last long.
And anyway, what does all this have to do with old TV shows?
terryr 10-28-2006, 05:18 PM So what should men wear at work to show off their assets?
LUKE'57 10-28-2006, 06:15 PM Very shallow, low cut rear pockets in their pants to show the cash in their wallets. Some things never change. LOL

Well, the original question for this thread is was did I remember these TV shows? I was attempting to say yes and what I remembered best about them. This thread did take a tangent from that point.
scotpens 10-28-2006, 08:04 PM They usually do. :)
Anyway, wasn't there an old sitcom called Who Wears the Pants? Well, okay, there should have been.
Lloyd Collins 10-28-2006, 10:27 PM I noticed some of my favorites were not on the list. From the 50's Rocky Jones-Space Ranger, Space Patrol, and Tom Corbett-Space Cadet.
Also, Search, and The Phoenix.
spe130 10-28-2006, 11:51 PM I'm not wearing any pants! Film at 11.
