View Full Version : Hey!! I missed this one! noddaz 10-25-2006, 09:18 PM A Stude!!! (Need to lose the blower & the chute...) http://photos.hobbytalk.com/data/518/medium/100_0103.jpg roadrner 10-26-2006, 08:56 AM Maybe they'll release a second version without the blower and chute ala XTrac Charger. Would make sense since most of the mold is done, right? rr ParkRNDL 10-26-2006, 10:15 AM the wheelbase would still be off. isn't this a model of an altered wheelbase drag car? --rick roadrner 10-26-2006, 11:30 AM Rick, I believe it is. I recall doing an AMT or Revell model way back of an altered Stude that was dead on like this one. Just can't remember the name of her. rr BRPHO 10-26-2006, 11:42 AM The model was reissued awhile ago and is still around. I believe it was called " Miss Deal" if I'm not mistaken....... The slot car body looks to be a copy of the model kit...... noddaz 10-26-2006, 01:45 PM This one! (stolen from the net...) http://photos.hobbytalk.com/data/500/miss_deal.JPG BRPHO 10-26-2006, 02:08 PM Yep! Thats the one!!!! Montoya1 10-26-2006, 03:09 PM This one! (stolen from the net...) http://photos.hobbytalk.com/data/500/miss_deal.JPG So its not just slot cars that have the bodies set too high! :) boss9 10-26-2006, 04:52 PM So its not just slot cars that have the bodies set too high! :) Deane- The model is not too high- Back in the early days of drag racing “Altereds” (as this one was one of) were usually sprung this high in the front- This was one of the ways to get “weight transfer” in those days. Not unusual in the least- (I too have the original Revell model.) :) This in no way compares to Daytonas, Can-Ams, or Nascars set up similarly as slot cars. That's just poor QC- Cheers- Montoya1 10-26-2006, 05:05 PM I was kidding! By the way, have you seen those contests where the cars rock from side to side and the measure the ground clearance? Apparently that has become old hat, now the whole car jumps in the air!! If I could only remember the correct name for this I would post a link.
