WOW what a day of racing at t he lube!
this was my first visit to quaker steak and lube and it won't be my last! the track was awesome and the traction was great! and let's not forget about the food! awesome wings and cold adult beverages to boot!
let's get onto the race action:
stock:
this class was one of the classes that was not decided by race 5! mike dispenza took TQ and the win the wolf man took first in the race and the series points! way to go mike! finishing second was jerry joslin and third went to tom eilers!nice racing guys.
12th scale 19 turn:
mike bean was the man on a mission again! mike took TQ and the win making mike the TQ and race winner of every 12th scale focar race held this year! awesome job bean..bean was followed closely by his partner in crime curt sanderson.finishing in third was newcomer to 12th scale michael gitchell followed by chris brimmer and mel mccoy.mike bean also took home the focar cup for 2006,this is mikes second championship in a row! way to go guys.
custom works sprint cars:
the winner of this race also took home a spektrum mini receiver as well.
kip ellerbusch our class champion for 2006 also took the win at the lube and the receiver as well. kip was followed by chris brimmer and wild man christian ginter! nice race guys.
sportsman 19 turn:
no matter what happens on the track these guys come off the stand with smiles. today was just like the other five races this year.taking TQ and the win is a name we have not seen around the series in awhile. floyd holton took home the win in this tough class followed by the wolf man mike dispenza and our 2006 cup champion greg walsh. mike was on fire today! great racing fellas and i'm glad you guys had fun all year!
novak 4300 class:
our class champion dave puliafico sat out this event to concentrate on the 19 turn class. so the race was up for grabs!
mich the glitch took TQ and the win giving mich his first 4300 focar win for the 2006 season. mich was followed by aaron joslin and eugene biala traveling down form jacksonville to come play with us.i expect this class to grow in numbers each year. nice racing fellas.
pro 19 turn A main:
what a race and what a finish to the year for this class!
pole sitter monte panzica did not have much luck in the main but he did prove winning the mod class at the snowbirds was no fluke,lol. monte gave our class champion mike boylan the fits all day long.in the main mr. boylan got his act together and laid down some fast laps to take a hard fought win backing up his 2006 championship in style. mike was followed by monte and daytonas finest rich boehmler. hard charger went to on-road specialist david croy and scott lafoe makes his first A main of the year and made good use of it with a 4th place showing. mr. lafoe is going to make alot more A mains in 2007!
