Thanks 30yearTech 10-18-2006, 07:52 AM A rectifer is basically an assembly with diodes that converts AC current into DC current. and may incorporate a voltage regulator. Depending on the engine, you will generall have (2) leads coming from the alternator windings that plug into the rectifer at top operating RPM's AC from these to leads will read between 30 -40 volts AC. The lead coming out of the recifier should read between 12-14 volts DC salarmi 10-22-2006, 02:46 PM Hi so where is the AC current coming from? I have a battery ( DC cuurent ) which should power the voltage regulator, can you explain 30yearTech 10-22-2006, 02:55 PM AC curent comes from the alternator mounted under the flywheel when the engine is running. The "alternator" produces alternating current and must be converted to direct current for use on the DC system (Battery) on your unit. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
