I just bought a pair of trc fronts and a pair of jaco fronts and noticed they use the exact same rim. Are these tires coming from the same factory or do the just use the same rims?

Thanks

If they are the new TRC tires with the black rim, i had heard Jaco was making all of there tires now..So the foam they use to use which was awesome has changed now to..Hopefully you want have any chunking issues.. I always liked BSR,TM, and TRC because there foam doesnt chunk..

Alright then. Does anyone have a chart comparing the compounds of the old trc with the jacos.

Thanks

The tires/rims that TRC used to sell were made by GRP. with the release of 2-stage/wraps for 1/12th and TC onroad, Trinity/TRC partnered with JACO. Jaco has a solid patent on these. on another forum Jaco had issues with TM doing wrap tires, think TM stopped making them.

GRP now sells their yellow wheels/tires under their own name. towerhobbies just started carrying them. i always liked the rims, they are near bomb proof compared to others.

other than rims and 2-stage

Jaco, TRC, CRC uses the same foam rubber

GRP, Parma are the same

don't know where the following fall in:
TM tires
BSR tires
rc4less.com tires

So if i ran a blue trc with a yellow rim it would be different from one with a black rim

Actually BSR buys their foam from Jaco. ITs not the foam that cause's the chunking...its the gluing process. The type of glue the companies you mentioned is softer and flexible. The glue jaco uses is harder and doesnt give.

All of them are good tires and just as fast as the other.

They have them for TC and 1/12th. They have a thin layer of foam on the inside, between the wheel and the actual tire compound foam. They have info on Jaco's site about them. I guess they work really well for onroad stuff. Wonder if/when we will start seeing them in oval.....if they aren't being used now.

VWAL , Yes the JACO wraps are great on the oval in 12th scale modified .... I ran some last week from SNOWBIRDS 2005 and they were still awesome .. The car is hooked up and you get alot more traction both front and back .... When I broke a rim [after amny crashes ] I had to change back to Pinks and Purples..... The car was way to tight I had to remove 3ounces of Left rear ..... In my opinion [which everyone has] is the wraps are worth at least 1-2 tenths per lap...... I hope Jack still has some cause I am out of tires SRM

E.A. I dont think all the BSR foam is from Jaco, just the standard and exotic compounds. Not for positive, but I know the natural compounds (pinks/purples) dont duro near the same as Jaco.
