hi i,m fairly new to oval racing and we are runing a 8sec. brake out class nastruck 365 feet run line 30 deg.1-2 22 deg.3-4 and a 7sec.brake out nascar class . i use a ice charger to test motors at 3 volts and the motors run between 2.8-4,2 amps we use the lite speed brushs {this is what i been told from my hobby shop } and i have tryed different springs the red, green and red ,silver seem to work best is there a amp draw that you shoot for ,the more amps it draws does that make more power?is there a way to find out the gear ratio for the size track we run the pro3 with spec tires on both 7sec. cars bsr capped tires .onthe 7 sec class we went last wed. and found .3-.4 sec. just by moving the tires in and out and moveing the .020 shims in the rear till the car was loose but are still off in the times the fast guys say they have went with these motors .we turned 6.7-6.6 and have talked to guys that have run 6.4 and faster .we geared i car 104-50 and one car 98 -53 but the motors seemed hot is there a temp. range for these motors? cars are close in set up just looking for ideas to pick up .2-.3 they are going to run this sat. no brake out in this nascar class .our track is a tri oval banked little rough{the grove rockhill ,sc } just looking at ideas on spring ,brushs to get the most ouy of these motors thanks tyler {ps we have tryed 4or 5 teeth in both ways to pick up maybe we need to try a bigger spur gear to start with ?

tmckinney, If you found .3 -.4 seconds per lap by just changing spacers, theirs probally plenty more to be found in the chassis then their is in the motor setup. I'd keep trying setup changes and keep trying. If you really thinks it's motor ask one of the guys that's beating you to try his motor.

i talked to one of the fast guys today and they gave me a few ideas on motor set ups and car set up we run offset t-plate and on center pod they said to try oncenter t-plate for the banked track offcenter pod plus where going to pit with them to figure out what the deal is .i have met a lot of nice people in this sport and am havin fun watching my son . i have four drivers and 6 cars to work on just trying to find all we can ,so over the winter we can save our money and buy the right chargers and tools to go fast . i like the brake out class and with a ten min. main we get to log laps dont get me wrong we won the last 5 out 6 times in nastruck and 2for 2 in the nascar class but you still work on getting better every week .the big thing we found in the nascar was lower the rear wing and moving the right rear out to free the car up

You missed it yesterday! Zo was on another track record pace and spun out coming out of two with less than two minutes to go. I, on the otherhand, broke out 12 times in the 2nd heat. I was turning 8.1 laps in the top lane. I was stupid fast!!!!
