Looks like a fun layout except.....................wouldnt it be better to reverse your elevations making the rear higher than the front?
In fact, if you change the elevations and mirror the layout so the long straight in back were up front and low, you'd have a nice area for a pit row with the ability to one day add active pits if you are digital.
Model car racing just had an article on working pit lanes with digital controls. You could do a 4 stall working pit with turnouts to each pit plus a pit entrance / exit lane in aproximately 10-11 feet of straightaway. It takes a little over 14 feet of straightaway minimum to do a 6 stall pit lane according to MCR magazine....:)

Racing with resident cats adds that element of suprise. Mine usually love static little trees and shrubs more than moving cars or trains, but you never know.
Are you adding something to keep cars off the floor?
