I saw the Trek Direct TV ad last night. Anyone know if this is a new spot or been playing awhile? It was pretty good, Shatner's bits fit seamlessly with the footage from "Undiscovered Country".

i've only seen it for about two weeks now, but there is some major digital maipulation to make Shatner look younger, thin him out and integrate him into the existing footage.

I agree, it's been running for about 2 weeks now. Nice spot by DirecTV for their HD sytem. So I wonder exactly how much Starfleet has to 'pony up' for the widescreen HD main screen on a Starship?

Its done with digital face replacement. They take original footage from ST VI and composite on Shatner's face acting. Pretty well done, and hilarious to boot! :D

You don't see TNG or any other trek doing commmercials. The classic crew gets the gigs.

That's pretty cool! I wish they'd do more like that.

Seeing the Klingon ship and the 1701 in space was a nostalgic moment for me.
