I am just getting back into racing after a several month layoff. Are 3800's still competitve? I'll be racing 6-cell stock and mod and maybe 4-cell stock.

Not if your running against the same talent with 4200's.

I have found the 3800's to make excellent practice packs. You can get the same lap times with 38's for two or three minutes. So, for practice/setup purposes they are fine.

But, it's all 4200's for the races.

Depends on the guys you race with. If everyone else is running 33's, you may be okay.

You will have a PM in a minute or two.

Ran 2nd in the main last night running 3300 pack against 3800s. The 3800 pack I had charging shorted a cell and failed :( happened to have a charged 3300 pack that I was going to use for practice laying there :)

They are if thats all you allow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're a small club but all the 19 turn drivers chose to stay with 3800 for another season.

A matter of fact --- We DQ'd the sec place car last week because he thought he'd be wise and sneek in a 4200.

last weekend at marshels raceway there were two leagues in town on sat the neot had there show with 4200s and on sunday the orl was in the house with a 3800 rule .. on sat tq was 61 4:00:32 on sunday the tq was set buy the 2nd qual on sat with a 60 4:00:68..

i ran on sat with 4200s a 61 4:04 and on sunday i ran a 60 4:04..

so on a 3.7 to 4.0 sec lap time track i would say the 4200s are a lap faster...

the 4200s started just a tad faster but held the time way into the run and finished just a tad faster then the 3800 IMO............

once the year is over for the orl i will have more notes with the 4200s from last years 3800s and will be able to post more info on this topic

just a question or league stays with a batt for the whole season and i know how to get ready for that but or season is over in nov.. my question is how do you plan to get a full year more on 3800s when no one can get them anymore???? not being cocky just wanting to know what you will do in jan and feb when guys feel they need sticks???

i know i was bumed when i heard i would no longer be able to get 3800s so i bought 5 to finish out the year with and with about 5 runs on them they will get made in to 6 cell packs to be sold to the backyard basher or in my sons xxt to play with in the yard...

no its not sail powerd its foot/leader powerd, ok herse how you do it: 1. kick car out in front of leaders car 2. make sure you are directly in front of his car 3. ride out the race to a win!!!

Hey Bologna what were you racing? I am concerned more with 6-cell mod and maybe 6-cell stock on dirt ovals.

I ran a pack of almost new 38's against WC 42's this past weekend in 4 cell 19T and "it's not even Close" went straight to my new WC 42's.
