Here's a heavy diecast stake truck that my mom played with when she was a child (yes, she grew up as quite a tomboy, and I think I probably inherited my love of cars from her.)

The only marking that I can find is the "US" stamped under the front bumper.

(If anyone here recognizes this little truck and knows the manufacturer, I would appreciate the info.)

My favorite design aspect of this truck is how the rivet that holds the two halves of the body together also doubles as the door handle.

Here is a pic to demonstrate the scale of this little truck as it hauls a standard 9-volt battery. Didn't it seem bigger in the first picture?

That's a nice vintage stake truck BluntFronts!

I know you will treasure it, since it was your mother's toy when she was a child.

This is the only stake truck that I have in my collection (it's only 13 years old). It's a Harley-Davidson truck that I bought at the Harley dealership.

Hard to tell the manfuacture with trucks like these. My best guess would be Barclay, but there were a lot of manufacturers out in the 30s and 40s. Nice piece.

That H-D truck is very cool, STUTZ; that is one modern issue that will most certainly increase in value, too.

I'm glad my mom's little truck reminds you of Barclay, GeraldE61. When I see pix of the older stuff on this forum, the Barclays usually happen to be the ones I like the best.

So it's nice to know that I might own one, too. I'm going to start looking for them by name. (Since JL is no fun anymore, I may just re-orient my focus towards older vehicles!)

Thanks for your insight into the possible origin of one of my favorite family heirlooms.
