I love the quality of the rims and tires on GL. Second to none but I do have one request, It looks like the font on the BF Goodrich tire is a tad too bold. They probably all are larger than scale so that we can read them but the BFG's could use an adjustment. The Wide O's and others look perfect.
You don't see people do them much now in restoration but during the day, when redlines were big, they also had "golden rods" which was a yellow band instead of a ww or redline. Since they are seen so infrequent these days do you think buyers today would not like them on die-cast?

For me, I've always liked the redline tires, they bring back many memories when I was young. Yes, I grew up in that era. LOL I remember the gold also, but the look of red against the black tires just likes cool.
Showing my age huh?

I was around back then too, and yes, redlines did look cool.... but I honestly recall them being much more scarce than a lot of other people seem to. They weren't that common in Massachusetts in the late Sixties

It's like anything else. It was a premium at the time and nobody wanted to pay the extra cost. It's like the Shelby Mustang. I can go to a major show and see 10 to 15 of them. Maybe never saw more than 2 back in the day running around. When people go back and fulfill their dreams, they pay top dollar and buy all the best.
Redlines of the day were indeed a premium.

I dont remember redlines being popular at all .. White letter tires were much more common.. At least in my area . I think todays trend of putting redlines on every 60's car is overkill ! The color of the car also makes or breaks the effect . Redlines on green or blue cars just dont look right ...
