Nolan31 10-12-2006, 02:19 PM I thought I would start a thread for these guys. They are located in Western Michigan and have a real nice indoor 1/18th scale and 1/10th scale dirt track the lanes are 8ft wide it is about a 35'x45'. They have a web site www.battlefrontgaming.com. Here are some pictures of the track.
Nolan31 10-12-2006, 02:21 PM here are the couple more.
Nolan31 10-18-2006, 02:36 PM Here is more information from the owners:
We have rebuilt the indoor dirt track. It is now 50 ft. long with banked corners at both ends of the straight. It has 8 ft. clear lanes all the way around.
We would really like to see small scale racing take hold. The Associated 1/18 4wd trucks/buggy will run full speed around the outside of the track and with the 8 ft. wide lanes there is plenty of racing room. Small scale racing can be just as fun and competitive and tends to be more affordable especially for families.
We have trucks/buggies for rent if you would like to try one out before going out and buying one.
We are looking at holding organized races on Wednesday nights, Friday nights and Saturday afternoons. Races will begin 6:30 on Wednesday and Friday and Noon on Saturday. We will run as many heats and a main as we can fit in. We are trying very hard not to conflict with other events already going on and yet give everybody an opportunity to enjoy our facility.
Race fees will be $6 for first class and $2 for each additional. Members ($25 per month) will pay half price . We will run box stock classes and anything goes classes and make adjustments or create classes as necessary.
Please visit our website to see pictures of the track. We will be posting additional information there as well. www.battlefrontgaming.com
Thanks!!!

BrentV 10-23-2006, 05:42 PM Ohh, I'm there........
I'm hoping to head out there this week or next.
BrentV 10-24-2006, 09:20 AM Well, I stopped out at the track last night. It's looks great, and now my Mini-T is ready to race. Man I need to get the Half8 soon, I think it will be great on the indoor track.
erik z 10-24-2006, 12:16 PM i just won a auction on ebay for a half 8 with lots of upgrades and brushless setup
BrentV 10-27-2006, 03:31 PM My brother is currently bidding on a RC18T with Mamba Kv8000. I think when I get a Half8 I might consider a Mamba system for it.
erik z 10-28-2006, 07:56 AM Hi Brent
Before you buy the mamba system i would check out the Teken 6.8kv system http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKYN9&P=ML or the most popular setup ive been seein is the Quarke 33amp w/ Aon 4900 brushless motor http://www.b-p-p.com/products.php?cat=36&PHPSESSID=bccd8501f5c6ebc8b5441f7d13fdb822
southsiderc13 10-29-2006, 11:16 PM what kind of a turnout are you getting for the saturday 1/18th scale races?
carcraze1004 10-29-2006, 11:45 PM Hey Nolin,
Kirt Dillon here,I've been running my rustler out at BFG and it's a blast. That truck runs awsome and it's fast.I have different electronics in it.The stock speed control took a dump. Now I have a Novak XRS and a 19 turn motor. This set up will keep up with that stock 12 turn that Josh has in his truck.I'll continue to run out there when possible. We need to get more people involved somehow. The only day I can probably make it out,is Wednesday.Friday&Saturday,I'm racing on-road at Riders.Tell John that this is a very fun and fast track.Talk to you later.
Kirt
BrentV 11-03-2006, 12:21 AM Planning on heading out there on Sat afternoon sometime.
jasburrito 11-03-2006, 02:45 AM Planning on heading out there on Sat afternoon sometime.
i went the other night.very fun. those 18b things fly right out of the box.
Ntwadumela 11-06-2006, 01:47 PM I spent some time out there on Saturday (like 8 or 9 hours :p ) I ran everything from half8's with brushless to a 1/10 4wd with a 10 turn mod in it. All I can say is the track is very nice. Don't be fooled by its dimensions, it runs BIG. At one point we had 6 1/10 on the track (3 trucks and 3 buggies) and there was enough room for everyone! Don't know if you would want to put more than that many 1/10 on the track at once, but it is nice to know you can at least run 6. The layout wasn't too complex (good for beginners) but the infield had a decent technical section where passing was possible without taking someone out. I had tons of fun and my hat goes off for John and Jason for making such a nice track.
Now I just need to put a little more motor in my M.I. ST and fix my brushless M.I. buggy (rear gears were blown) and I'll be ready to tear it up again.
BrentV 11-17-2006, 03:50 PM Soooo, whos all heading out for some racing/driving there mini's? I'm planning on heading there tomorrow afternoon with the mini-t.
Erik, how's the Mini Inferno working out for you?

Hmm.. I guess if a top 4wd driver from the MARS series says the track is nice, it would be worth my time to go check it out with my 10th scale one of these days.. What tires seem to be the choice? Thanks Tom
Mike,

Mike,
Seems that the more aggresive stye tire works well on most in the rear. Fuzzys will not hook up, unless you have 4wd then anything will prob work good.

Dave Walton 12-03-2006, 07:44 PM Eric Z give me a call. Thanks Dave.
erik z 12-04-2006, 09:15 PM Jason and I will be out sunday to race who else goes on sunday to race?
BrentV 12-04-2006, 10:08 PM Erik,
I'm going to start racing Weds with Swint, Ogle, and Dunlap. Erik are you running the Mini-Inferno? I'm working on getting the rest of the stuff for mine. I'm looking at the Quark ESC, I'm however torn because I like the fact that you can program all the throttle/brake curves with the Mamba system. Yeah, I know it's a 22Amp system but it just seems more modifiable than the Quark. We'll see though. I figure I'm not trying to make a straight line racer but an all track racer. I'm still going to probably run the 8000Kw motor though. I figured out that the Inferno that I purchase was converted to the ST, but I'm going to get the buggy arms and drives. Mine does however have a 10mm longer wheel base with KM carbon chassis.

Brent I just orded a quark 33 with 6800 mamba combo from bishop power products delivered for 104 bucks, they will not be under sold. Use there search option to find what you want on there site. They have many great combos, basically any speedcontrol and motor combo you are looking for they have. You can also program throttle/brake with the quark. Mamba also makes a 30amp witch is a little better than the 22. I decided to get the quark because is has less cogging than the mamba. I think the quark adjust the timing as the motor speeds increase, witch in turn make for better control and less cogging. I have heard many good things about the WRAITH 7k.Check it out at bishop. I was going to buy one but decided it would be to powerful with a 2s.Decide how many lipos you are going to be running so you know what motor to get.The 8k and 9k motors are way way to fast and powerful for rc18 with 2s packs. These new lipos and brushless motor make insane amouts of uncotrollable power.
jasburrito 12-05-2006, 01:51 PM Jason and I will be out sunday to race who else goes on sunday to race?
Not this sunday. Prob next though. They are open all the time though. need to figure out what days work each week so we can hook up.
Dave Walton 12-05-2006, 02:24 PM Eric I am still waiting to here from you.
les_222 12-05-2006, 03:05 PM These into track is electric only right?
Nolan31 12-05-2006, 06:16 PM These into track is electric only right?
Yes this is a Electric track only
BrentV 12-05-2006, 10:00 PM Well here's a pic of the HALF8 I bought. After going thru it to see what I really got, there is quite a bit-o-stuff.
KM 6 cell carbon chassis w/Alluminum center diff mount & dual disk slipper, 3racing F/R ball diffs, 3racing knuckles & hub carriers, 3racing shocks & 4 sets of springs, ST conversion, Hitec HS81 MG servo, and a lot of other parts. This should be fun to run at BFG. Thanks Swint on the heads up on the Brushless system. I was looking at Bishop as well to see what I wanted, your system sounds like one I should consider pretty heavily.

David Washburn 12-05-2006, 11:45 PM Dang brent that is a sweet looking buggy i think in gonna look at getting a half 8 if not that than maybe the vendetta, that is a good looking buggy and is easier to get parts for, i dont know but i got a brushless system on the way i did a trade with a kid on here for one it is the mamba esc and a aon 4900Kv motor so hopefully work out fine a bfg, we will have to see, in hopeing to have it tomarrow before i go to the track. So how many of you are gonna be there tomarrow for the racing.
BrentV 12-06-2006, 12:43 AM Hello Jason,
You running tomorrow? I'm Planning on it, I'll be running my Mini-T
jasburrito 12-06-2006, 12:43 AM That there buggy of yours looks really cool.wow.
jasburrito 12-06-2006, 12:45 AM yes hopefully my brushless comes. ya bring that mini t. those thing fly too.
BrentV 12-06-2006, 12:48 AM No brushless, but it runs pretty good. I will be racing with the kids this spring on my track in the back yard. Both kids will run mini-t's and I'll be running the Half8. As far as the big track goes (1:8 scale) it's still looking good.
BrentV 12-06-2006, 12:51 AM Jason,
Have you talked to ErikZ to see how he likes his brushless?
BrentV 12-06-2006, 12:52 AM What's Jon and Don running? They running 1:10 scale?
