Saw a display of HW's at Wally's that had a Halloween motif. Pretty cool cardboard display and the blister art was far superior to the casting choices. I remember when they first started doing this and they seemed very hard to find. I got into it but the casting choices this year were so bad I had to pass. So, I like the concept but the casting has to be cool. Question is............

1. Do you like the Holiday specials done by the various companies?

2. Do you pretty much buy them regardless of the casting choice?

3. Do you stay away because you feel they are too contrived?

4. Do you treat this like anything else, I buy what I like?

5. IF GL did a Holiday car, would you be interested?

1. Do you like the Holiday specials done by the various companies? Only Holiday Classic. They're tasteful.

2. Do you pretty much buy them regardless of the casting choice?
No. Only if I like em.

3. Do you stay away because you feel they are too contrived?
If they're full of santas, happy snowmen, fluffy bears and reindeer, forget it.

4. Do you treat this like anything else, I buy what I like?
Pretty much.

5. IF GL did a Holiday car, would you be interested?
Tasteful? Yes. Chrome? Yes. Funky features like snowy windshields, presents in the back seat, clever-but-subtle christmas graphics? Yes. Tampo-crazy slap-ons? No.

Target Halloween Munster cars and Ecto were cool. I miss that old school card art from Lights Out Liberty, Bone Shaker etc.

2. Do you pretty much buy them regardless of the casting choice?

I guess I have in the past. That Bone Shaker casting was a pile of dog doo.

3. Do you stay away because you feel they are too contrived?

They are played out at this point

4. Do you treat this like anything else, I buy what I like?

yep

5. IF GL did a Holiday car, would you be interested?

Who can say for sure?

1. Do you like the Holiday specials done by the various companies? I actually loved the first HWC Halloween Dairy Delivery and the Christmas Rear Loading Beach Bombs. I thought the early PM stuff especially the card are was pretty cool too. Love the JL Holiday cars and I could warm up to the low end HW's stuff if they would get away from Donk pumpkins and tanks with a witch on it.

2. Do you pretty much buy them regardless of the casting choice? No way.

3. Do you stay away because you feel they are too contrived? Actaully I enjoy a well done Holiday themed casting.

4. Do you treat this like anything else, I buy what I like? Yes.

5. IF GL did a Holiday car, would you be interested?
Sure would but like Mike said, Coke style Bears, happy Gingerbread men etc drives me nuts.

1. Do you like the Holiday specials done by the various companies?
- I get the JL Holiday Classics

2. Do you pretty much buy them regardless of the casting choice?
- Only if buying them in sets, else I pick my castings.

3. Do you stay away because you feel they are too contrived?
- I avoid any with big gross graphics. The JL Christmas Classics I like because they're tastfully done.

4. Do you treat this like anything else, I buy what I like?
- I buys what I likes...

5. IF GL did a Holiday car, would you be interested?
- It depends on the casting and how they do it. Again overly done, graphics like tatoos on beautiful woman can be a 'turn-off'.

1. Do you like the Holiday specials done by the various companies?

At times yes, but only the Christmas one's do it for me. But like everything else, other companies are starting to mass produce holiday themes and it's starting to be overkill.

2. Do you pretty much buy them regardless of the casting choice?

Only the JL one's does, HW only if the casting is right.

3. Do you stay away because you feel they are too contrived?

Eh.

4. Do you treat this like anything else, I buy what I like?

Bingo.

5. IF GL did a Holiday car, would you be interested?

Depends on the casting, and colors used.

4. Do you treat this like anything else, I buy what I like?
yes

5. IF GL did a Holiday car, would you be interested?
