To all of the sponsors, suppliers, and individuals who helped make the Scott Ricker benefit race a huge success. To Carolyn and Chuck Greene, the nicest track owners you'll ever meet,to Steve Conner and Steve Best for their help,Mike Greene on the grill, and finally to all the racers for a super event in helping to support a fellow racer. Now the race report:
Sam Presnell, filling in for his father Jim,who took ill after the 2nd qualifier, took the truck class win over a close finishing Harold Henneforth, with Dean Hood 3rd.
The guys from Lail made a good showing on the asphalt in the breakout class, with Scott Johnson taking the win over[not sure of this] Marcell,Ron Phillips,Lee Ricker, and Dave Stewart.Scott also won the special drawing for the nice watch that Charles gave away, and Marcell cleaned house in the raffle.
The 21 turn ltd. class continues to be the strongest class in the southeast, and last night wasn't an exception.Jody Miller took the win in a borrowed ride from Stan Brackett after his didn't get to the track, followed by Henry Greene and my part-timer Danny Shope.Henry won the winner's drawing for a pack of killer 4200's from Pro-Match[thanks Jeff!].
After a pole start,i sheared a spur on the start, and Sam Presnell pulled the double in winning the 6c pro spec class, followed by Mitch Robinson, myself, and Kenny Greene in 4th.
Mike Bush continues his dominance of 19t,taking the win over a close Donnie Logan, and Charley "Mr Bandit" Yates.
In the .09 nitro,Mitch Robinson took advantage of Stan Brackett's misfortune and the win over Steve Best,Stan,Randall Gasperson.[not quite sure of the rest of the finishers]
Sam Presnell also took the win in the tire roll, collecting another great pack of Pro-match batteries.
A wonderful evening,good racing,and a great cause made this a super event.
