View Full Version : BRL Rules Package (Part 1)
Sonny B 02-17-2007, 11:42 AM I see the new 13.5 pro motor comes with a sintered rotor and different end bells like the 4300. Not sure if this is the only way they are going to make it now. Will this be legal next year
More than likely we will allow the 13.5 racers to add Sintered rotors next season.
pmsimkins 02-18-2007, 04:13 PM Sonny,
Will the Protoform Toyota body be legal for Omaha?

Sorry not for Omaha. We have a 30 day availability rule on new body releases.
The finals will likely be the first opportunity to use it.
BTW: I have one and it looks really sweet.
jason crist 02-18-2007, 09:50 PM great timing for a new body

Easy camper I can't control the release dates. You'll just have to cut back on the wing order at Hooters.
FYI: I think the Charger still may be the better choice on a short track. The THD should be better in the faster classes on a big track. Kind of like the Monte Carlo.
ToddFalkowski 02-18-2007, 10:40 PM I have my hopes up for the new THD, really sweet looking, much better than the "aardvark" nose of that Charger body.....

Jason if you look in the BRL rule book there are a pair of pages that cover this under Track Specifications. If you look under section 6.9 is specifically states there must be a Hooters with in a 5 mile radius of a host track..
Vinton is the only track that was granted an exemption, but if they want a race next year there gonna have to work on that.
FYI: The Hooters in Springfield is bout a mile down from the Hotels.
jason crist 02-19-2007, 10:56 PM thanks sonny for the rule reminder.......
how many laps are the dash for cash races on friday at the nationals ?
Mr.Wolfman 02-19-2007, 11:18 PM Good to see that Sonny has recovered from the "Birds" flue and made it to the keyboard, with his humor in full force........LOL
Nothing cures the flue like WINGS

ToddFalkowski 02-27-2007, 02:03 PM Hey Sonny.... The "new" Novak motors, will they be required next season in 13.5 & 4300 for BRL races (only thinking about the orange and blue ring, tech portion of it- I do understand they're the same) or will the older ones still be allowed?

Todd
No they will not be required.
The timing rings are a nice touch and do add a quick visual check for the tech crew but it is still just as easy to tech the older ones with a meter.
ToddFalkowski 02-27-2007, 03:15 PM Kinda what I figured, just wanted to make sure before I went out and bought another one- old ones still on the shelves...
Thanks Sonny!
Saw your post (in the 2008 schedule thread) about a "Masters Truck" class, hoping it will be a class for us "Retro" drivers (hate to call us old) who's eyesite and reaction time are starting to fade. Give me a clue, what does "Masters" imply. The ROAR people just smiled when I inquired about a class for the older drivers. I also think that you might look at some kind of "spec" class for the new drivers who are just getting started. My .02. Thanks for listening Ralf

Ralf. This class will have a minimum age limit of it of 40 maybe 45 (not yet set in stone). I’m trying to work with another well known promoter to stay consistent with the rules package.
We also have a class sponsor that will be announcing in the future. This sponsor will be building an exclusive new body for this class. From the early response I’ve seen it should be well supported.
As far as a Spec type class we also working on rules package and testing for that as well. The class will be targeted at Novice & Rookie level drivers. My goal is to have the local tracks pick this up and you may see it at out new State Level events this year. It will not be added to the National Tour. I feel the best place for new drives to learn is at the local track.
When drivers are ready to move up the 13.5 class would be the best point.
I hope to have everything in place by mid June.
SDL98 04-22-2007, 01:51 PM An old farts class kool, I vote for 45 maybe 50 and a special stand to accomodate our walkers
If we are voting, I go for 60 and OVER, give me a shot! Ralf
