While doing some cleaning up I found what appears to be a complete set. Appears to be in very good condition other then the box is pretty dirty. Must be 15 - 20 years old. Is there any real value in this? Thanks!

View Full Version : Bachmann Long Haul - Any Value? hankster 09-18-2006, 03:03 PM While doing some cleaning up I found what appears to be a complete set. Appears to be in very good condition other then the box is pretty dirty. Must be 15 - 20 years old. Is there any real value in this? Thanks! toyroy 09-18-2006, 07:23 PM I can see it fetching $20-$50 on eBey, which is probably your best sales venue. Older Bachmann is not particularly collectible, nor does it appeal strongly to operators. You do have the component boxes, but it looks like the set box top is partly missing, in addition to being dirty. None of the components appear to be very interesting, either. Sometimes, something like a Coca-Cola car will make a little difference. Good luck, in selling it. Sorry I couldn't tell you its worth big bucks. BRPHO 09-19-2006, 09:28 AM I see sets like this at the trainshows and garage sales for about $20-$30. It is a fairly common set bought at any of the stores around Xmas time. This type of set would be good for a first timer not looking to spend much money starting out. The guys really into the hobby wouldn't give it a second look. The operating quality just isn't there in a basic set like that. I would try ebay also. Good luck though because there is a ton of common stuff like that on there now....... toyroy 09-19-2006, 02:17 PM I see sets like this at the trainshows...for about $20-$30. If I may, I would like to make one observation here. There are many train shows which cater primarily to train collectors. Typically, common HO brings considerably less, at such a show. I would try (eBay!) also. Good luck though because there is a ton of common stuff like that on there now....... True. There are more buyers for trains at this time of year also, though. Prices seem to have gone up, since Labor day. hankster 09-19-2006, 02:57 PM Thanks guys, didn't know what I had but figured it wasn't worth much. partyplatedave 11-19-2006, 08:58 PM never even seen it before.....put it on ebay.....or yahoo search it and see if you can match it..... vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
