I'm running a gtb 7.5 in my bj4, orion 4800 lipo geared at 15- 72 and after 8-9 mins it thermals. I've opened up the body to allow more air and it still does it. I'm running a fan on the ESC so it runs cool. I've concidered a larger fan between the motor and ESC to draw air accross the esc and past the motor.Any suggestions here would be much appriecated.
Thanks, Be Blessed, Kingskid

go to a smaller pinion. it may take a long time for it to get hot and shut down but i think you are slightly overgeared causing it to thermal

anything smaller than a 15 pinion, the motor rubs the center oneway. If I'm going to gear lower, I'll need to go bigger on the spur gear. Thanks, I'll give it a try. Be blessed

after some research, I decided to add an 1.5 inch fan between the speed control and motor(eliminated the original fan). At 16-72 it runs at about 150 after 10 minutes. They tell me the sintered rotor drops the temp about 30 degrees so I just put one in. Won't get to test it until saturday. I'll post my findings for anyone who'd like to know. :) Be Blessed

great, kept the temp under 150 even after 15min + runs. Power is MUCH smoother too. Best setup I've EVER owned. I would highly recommend the rotor in any BL setup. Be Blessed
