hey guys. my lhs is going out of buisness and i can get my hands on realy cheap xxx-s hop ups. so I was just wondering if you guys thought it would be a good idea to run alluminum hubs front and rear with cariers. also the inner hinge pin mounts are also avalable to me for very cheap so I was just wonder if you guys thought this was a good/bad idea. also Does anyone know how many degreese of caster the regular xxx-s carers are cuz those are only like 2 bux and they dont have deg marked on em so i assume they are zero but I have no clue.
THANKS

Are you going to run this car as a racer or as a basher? Aluminum can be a good hop-up for the hubs, but remember that stress from any accidents that would have broken the hub will go somewhere else. Also aluminum is heavier and can be bent. If you go with aluminum, periodically check the part for bending as it can obviously affect performance. If you aren't racing, weight shouldn't be an issue especially with the batteries that are available today.

its for racing, the reason I asked if it was a good idea is because alot of next gen touring cars are now running them. so I was wondering if that is a good idea. the more and more i think about it I dont like it. because the only thing i have broken on my touring car is suspention arms but I have never had any other problems. so I think i might just stick with the graphite ones.

Hi,
Stampede's right. the inner hinge pin/roll center mounts are the only way to go. also the aluminum steering rack is a must have.
as for the rear hubs and "C" hubs and steering knuckles you really don't need them unless your building a shelf queen

nope this car is strictly racing . I just wanted to know if anyone thought that it would be a good idea to get those. now I also did think that the alluminum steering rack would be a good idea. but I cant find them anymore. any idea on where to get one? cuz my cars belcranks have alot of play in them and I cant figure out how to take that play out

allright guys onece again i dug up an old topic of mine so that I dont have to start a new thread. but no I have a question about xxx-s mods. ok this one is kinda hard to expane. has anyone seen the stering rack mod where the drivers instead of mounting the ball stud where its supposed to go in the little nub on the left side of the car. they drill a whole in the center of the steering rack. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what this mod did. and is it worth the time doing it? also I have seen a few pictures of the xxx-s in its final stages before losi switched over to the jrx-s and matt francis and travis akazuda or whatever where running more traditional blader style touing car shocks and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of shocks these where and wehre to get them. so far I think they are tamiya tcs shocks. so if anyone knows anything about these to mods please tell me.

Hi, (again)
I had the steering mod on both of my XXXS's I did it before we raced them so I never knew how the stock steering felt. I was able to move servo up on the chassis (weight transfer) and I put the speedo in front of the motor instead of behind it.
as for the shocks I ran Tamiya shocks on my XXXS's. I found them to be smoother, easier to build and you have a greater spring selection. I used the TRF ones.
hope this helps
Thanks
