I was wondering if there is an outlaw series that runs sprintcars in the Oh, Ind, Mich area. I am very intrested in getting into 1/4 scale racing. I was on the QSAC web site reading the rules and wondered if a less restricted class like this runs anywhere.
The gas boat guys are running 25cc mod motors with tunned pipes and getting 6+ Hp out of them...... purpose built 7+. Yes the cost wolud of a motor pipe package would tripple 700 - 800 dollars but it sure wolud be fun to carry the front wheels down the straightaway.

Tommy1,
We race 1/4 scale outlaw type sprints on dirt in Pa. About 25 minutes from the Ohio line. Stop by and check them / us out.

Yes, we do. You have to be a QSAC member to race at Naugle Speedway. Where are you from Tommy? Do you have a 1/4 scale now?

I live in western Ohio would be 4 1/2 hr trip to Naugle (not real bad). I dont have a 1/4 scale yet just looking into it. I love open wheel cars sprints, midgets, super modifieds. The local clubs Mich, Ind run on pavement which i also like. Never ran dirt before but would like to run on both. Have alot of pavement knowledge (big cars). What chassis do you run?
Thanks for all your help. Just trying to do some research before I commet.

Tommy I think the limiting factor on the motors is really more related to the tire technology not as much cost. 1/4 scale tires aren’t produced in enough volume to make it cost effective enough to take it to the next level of production. We could easily have 30 pound Grand National cars going 70 to 80 MPH as some tracks but the tires would literally blow apart after a few laps.
On dirt it’s a little different story because you don’t have the same traction level or load on the tires.

We race sprints only on dirt. 6 to 9 cars. In 2005 we had about 9 to 11. 2007 is looking good as well - 7 to 12, hoping for a solid eight to ten or so.
Indy's web site is on the QSAC site, under "Links" . You could contact someone there I'm sure.

Tommy:
I raced my 1/4 scale the first time at the race on the 16th you referenced earlier. You live in Dayton so you are lucky concerning 1/4 scale sprinters in that Fred Murry lives there and is actively involved. You need to call him usually after noon on 937 475 4016 and he can help you out. He has been super helping me get started.
Good Luck and come out and have some fun. It trully was a blast
