Just after some manuals or anything on a honda GX142 i have, any help would be great.

gx 142?? i know honda pretty well that should be gx 140 4hp honda manuals are hard to come by a company called helm has all the honda youll ever need but there are no downloads and they cost about 30.00 a pop its all there owners , and service manuals gx 120 140 160 are the same engine they just get bigger as the numbers go up from 3.5 to 5 hp and may all be in the same manual to save paper good luck

On the side of this engine it says 171ccGX142. Shes an old honda and she runs around 5 hp. I can get a picture in a week or two to show you the engine im talking about. Its not a gx140 i've already looked at them.

What is it mounted on? A generator perhaps?

Not sure what it was originally mounted on but i do know it was mounted on a diving compressor once in its life.

Is the word Honda stamped anywhere on the engine housing? From your description all I can find are Yamaha engines. My local Yamahahahaha dealer is not providing me with any answers to my queries if it is theirs.

Yep right above the gx142 stanpings is the big honda logo, it looks alot like a 150 i saw today but the oil tank and carby look alot different.

ok i finally got another look at the engine today and sorry to everyone who read this and didnt know what i was talking about its a g42 which i have got a manual to but anything else anyone can offer would be great.

Anyone know where I can get a look at an "exploded view" of a Honda GX140-144 engine. It's a 1984-1985 vintage and was atop a HS55 Snowblower. I believe this particular engine was used by Honda for many other applications. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I obtained it as a "basket case" sort of.. I know I need parts and have2 nop Dealer nearby.. Thanks Jmc
