A couple months ago I purchased my first rc plane. It was the Firebird Commander 2. 2 channel electric plane that only put me back about $150 bucks with some minor upgrades (ie bigger battery, peak rate charger). I loved flying the plane. I did quite well with it. However, once I got better with it, I wished I had purchased at least a 3 channel plane to begin with. Making turns and waiting for the plane to decend sucks after a while.

Last month I was getting very comfortable with it and crashed it. The thing that sucks is, the time I pay to replace the individual parts, I could put that money towards a plane that I want.

My advice to you is to go spend some time at the flight parks. Talk to the people there and they will guide you. My next plane will be a gas trainer of some sort.

Good luck.
